• The ability to lead others rests in our ability to lead

ourselves.

• Once we know ourselves as individuals we can lead

others.

• The first step in doing that is:

• Understanding your leadership skills.

• Defining your leadership fundamentals.

• “Organizations are no longer built on force

but on trust. The existence of trust between

people does not necessarily mean that they

like each other. It means they understand

one another. Taking responsibility for

relationships is therefore an absolute

necessity. It is a duty.” -- Peter Drucker

• Effective communication with senior

management has one of the strongest effects

on the trust climate in a company.

• When communication channels deteriorate,

misunderstandings and misrepresentations

emerge and a climate of mistrust sets in.

• A managers' ability to listen, communicate

clearly, and lead has the strongest effect on

employees’ organizational commitment.

• To promote and build positive trust

relationships, senior managers must

communicate as honestly and directly as

possible, particularly during

uncertain times.
