The Cool Springs Downtown District and the Airborne & Special Operations Museum (ASOM) are proud tohost the annual Field of Honor, which is a living display of heroism that flies as a patriotic tribute to thestrength and unity of Americans. Hundreds of American flags fly on the Parade Grounds of the ASOM inDowntown Fayetteville every year, and the public is invited to visit the field and pay their respects. Itcelebrates the veteran, regardless of time served, branch of military, or war-time service. This specific fieldis one of the longest running Fields of Honor in the United States.
The Field of Honor Dedication Ceremony will be held at the ASOM from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. onSaturday, May 19, and the field will then remain open for the public to visit during daytime hours throughFriday, July 6, 2018.

All aboard the Garden Railway! Visitors of all ages will be wowed by a minitature model railway system setup throughout the Friendship Garden. The track includes 450 feet of curves, bridges, plants and of course,trains. You and your family will enjoy watching the trains ride through the Friendship Garden and over thepond to where your imagination takes you. To complement the exhibit, a table-top train will be displayed inthe Entry Pavilion. Garden Railway merchandise will be available in the Gift Shop, and on select weekends,visitors can operate and ride hand cars. The exhibit will change and evolve throughout the summer as theconductor switches out trains and adds new elements to the exhibit. These seasonal offerings--along with plants, flowers, coffee, pottery, tea,soap, candles, jewelry, knitted goods, and other handcrafted products--may be purchased. The main marketseason runs from April through December, but a number of vendors appear year-round.

To complement the exhibit, a table-top train will be displayed inthe Entry Pavilion. All aboard the Garden Railway! Visitors of all ages will be wowed by a minitature model railway system setup throughout the Friendship Garden. To complement the exhibit, a table-top train will be displayed inthe Entry Pavilion. All aboard the Garden Railway! Visitors of all ages will be wowed by a minitature model railway system setup throughout the Friendship Garden. The track includes 450 feet of curves, bridges, plants and of course,trains. You and your family will enjoy watching the trains ride through the Friendship Garden and over thepond to where your imagination takes you. To complement the exhibit, a table-top train will be displayed inthe Entry Pavilion. Garden Railway merchandise will be available in the Gift Shop, and on select weekends,visitors can operate and ride hand cars. The exhibit will change and evolve throughout the summer as theconductor switches out trains and adds new elements to the exhibit. It will remain open to the public duringnormal Garden hours through August 31, 2018.

The City Market at the Museum is a farmers' and crafters' market in the heart of Downtown Fayetteville.The market is operated by the Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum, and meets onthe museum grounds every Saturday morning. Locally grown vegetables, fruit, eggs, honey, and other farmproducts are offered for sale. These seasonal offerings--along with plants, flowers, coffee, pottery, tea,soap, candles, jewelry, knitted goods, and other handcrafted products--may be purchased. The main marketseason runs from April through December, but a number of vendors appear year-round.
