PigBrother — Camera-based Weight Estimation System

PigBrother’s mission is to ensure an accurate predictability of growth in the fattening animal production industry, make optimal use of available re-sources, and anticipate external, environmental, or internal physiological phenomena that could affect the planning and weight gain of the animals. It is our important task to compensate for the high demand for human re-sources, by creating and spreading an automated process for precision farm-ing, which reduces the labor shortage typical of this sector. The system uses machine learning methods to process large amounts of data from IoT devic-es housed in pens. We display forecasts and suggestions in an intuitive way on a web interface to support decision-making as effectively as possible. A key difficulty for the pig fattening sector is that producers are unable to accurately estimate the weight of the porkers involved in fattening, working only with approximate values and a high error rate during the slaughterhouse selection. The slaughterhouse does not pay the full price for porkers outside the specified weight limit, so the farms lose significant revenues.

Grab-Max — Bin picking solutions

Our solution answers the general industry 4.0 problem when unsorted parts arrive to the manufacturing process. Our innovative software automatically unpacks unsorted items from the crate. With the help of artificial intelligence, we automate the production process at the stages where human labor has been essential until now. The fundamental problem with current solutions is that they all require hu-man supervision in case of a disordered condition. Our solution is AI driven and can perform the rearrangement automatically which means it can con-tinue the work without human interference. Our system is able to detect a situation where while the object is being re-moved it would collide with the side of the crate, thus risking a fall or damaging the object. In this case, the system “releases” the objects by partially rearranging the crate, making the object safely removable. Complete automation can be achieved by replacing this work phase which is currently a semi-automated process.

Festipay is a Windows-based application running on OMV PC POS terminals created for Cardnet Zrt.
