What is Pinterest?
• Pinterest is essentially a photo blog or “virtual pinboard” that lets users organize and share all of their interests in a visually appealing way.
Get started in 5 easy steps
![Page 3: Introtopinterest](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022051608/53ffa5c88d7f724c088b4740/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
Welcome to Pinterest
• Step 1: Sign up to get an invite. Once you get your invite, you have the option to join via your Facebook ID.
• Step 2: Choose your interests.
![Page 4: Introtopinterest](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022051608/53ffa5c88d7f724c088b4740/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
Wait.. why did I have to choose my interests?
• Pinterest automatically chooses some folks with established pinboards for you to follow based on your interests.
• If you sign up with your FB account, it also automatically follows your friends.

• Step 3: Categorize your pinboards
– What’s a pinboard? A visual collection of the things you love (online)
![Page 6: Introtopinterest](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022051608/53ffa5c88d7f724c088b4740/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
• Step 4: Pin it to your bookmarks
– Adding the “Pin It” button to your bookmarks makes it easy for you to add images, videos, and text to your pinboards seamlessly while you’re surfing the web.

• Step 5: Start pinning and categorizing!
– It’s pretty simple. Say you see a photo of China, and you decide that you want to save this image. You can click the “Pin It” button on your bookmarks which will pull up a “create pin” pop-up. The pop-up gives you the option to categorize the image and add a caption. You’re also invited to share it on Facebook or Tweet about it.

Your Homepage
• Your homepage shows content from the people you’re following.
• Engagement options include Repin, Like, and Comment.
