Most students had some great gains, please ask you child about their improvements. To celebrate heart health month, we had a 2 week jump rope unit where we practiced both short and long jump roping. The end of the month we started a floor hockey unit. Do you know how close your child is to making the marathon in running club? FROM THE PRINICIPAL We are excited to be in the second half of the school year, our students have made great strides and great friendships. Our teachers and staff are working hard every day to make the student experience better than the day before. To support us in this pursuit, please help us by having your child attend regularly and on time. Attendance has a great impact on the success of our students and we want to support your child in every way we can. Not only do we want them here every day, we want them on time. Being just five minutes late every day equals out to 3.5 days of school at the end of the year. Teachers begin setting the tone for the day and begin instruction as soon as the students enter the classroom. Our doors open at 7:25 for breakfast and morning choices. School begins at 7:50. We have many enriching activities to come this spring that we would like ALL of our students to have a chance to take part in. Lets keep this year going on a strong and positive note! We appreciate your partnership in making Jefferson Elementary a fantastic experience for all students. The district has existing procedures regarding excluding students who have a communicable disease. Students will be sent home from school if they have a fever greater than 100.5 degrees and one or more of the following: Sore throat, aches & pains, diarrhea, cough and vomiting. If your child was sent home with a fever they cannot come back until they are 24 hours without a fever and without medicine. Please help us in minimizing the spread of illness. Thank you! KINDERGARTEN LAUNCH If your child is going to be 5 by September 1, 2020 its time to launch them into kindergarten! The kindergarten launch date is April 1st from 4:00- 6:00pm at your local school. AVISO ESCOLAR Sólo deseamos recordarles que las clases comienzan a las 7:50 y los alumnos se marcan tarde después de las 7:55. Es importante que su hijo(a) llegue a tiempo. Recuérdeles que deben desayunar antes de ingresar a clases.

Estamos emocionados de estar en la segunda mitad del año escolar, nuestros estudiantes han hecho grandes avances y grandes amistades. TAZÓN MUNICIPAL

Nuestra competencia de carrera/caminata por el Tazón Municipal anual tendrá lugar el sábado 11 de abril del 2020. Los formularios de registración se enviarán a casa en los próximos días. Complételo y entrégueselo a la oficina principal para el día miércoles 18 de marzo.

NOTICIAS SOBRE LA TEMPORADA DE INFLUENZA

Nuestra temporada de gripe sigue siendo bastante fuerte durante este tiempo, así que aquí hay algunos buenos recordatorios para ayudar a detener la propagación de la enfermedad. El distrito tiene procedimientos existentes para excluir a los estudiantes que tienen una enfermedad contagiosa. Los estudiantes serán enviados a casa desde la escuela si tienen fiebre de más de 100.5 grados y uno o más de los siguientes: dolor de garganta, dolores y molestias, diarrea, tos y vómitos. Si su hijo fue enviado a casa con fiebre, no puede regresar hasta que hayan pasado 24 horas sin fiebre y sin medicamentos. Ayúdanos a minimizar la propagación de enfermedades. ¡Gracias!
