Nuestra Parroquia está enfrentando actualmente una muy difícil situación económica debido, principalmente, a los
gastos de reparación del edificio de nuestra escuela y a las lim-itaciones económicas provocadas por la pandemica de Covid-19. La reparación del edificio de la escuela presenta un costo de 1.5 millones de dólares. Nuestra Parroquia ha tenido que tomar un préstamo para poder enfrentar un gasto de tal magnitud.
Debido a la pandemia de Covid-19 nuestros ingresos semana-les han disminuido en más de un 40%. Sin embargo, nuestras obligaciones financieras regulares han continuado siendo las mismas. Actualmente nuestro gasto anual en pagos de sueldos a empleados parroquiales asciende a unos 900,000. Sin embargo, nuestros ingresos regulares por concepto de colectas de Misas asciende a unos 884,000 dólares anuales. Como puede fácilmente observarse, con semejantes ingresos no resulta posible mantener una economía parroquial estable.
En razón de todo lo anterior, y tras un proceso de consultas y de asesoría técnica, hemos tenido que proceder, muy dolorosa-mente, a implementar un serio reajuste en los gastos de em-
Our Parish is currently facing a very difficult economic situation, mainly due to the costs of repairing our school
building and the economic limitations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The repair of the school building has a cost of 1.5 mil-lion dollars. Our Parish has had to take out a loan to be able to face an expense of such magnitude.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our weekly income has decreased by more than 40%. However, our regular financial obligations have remained the same. Currently our annual spending on salary payments to parish employees amounts to about 900,000. How-ever, our regular income from Mass collections is about $ 884,000 annually. As can easily be seen, with such income it is not possible to maintain a stable parish economy.
Due to all of the above, and after a process of consultations and technical advice, we have had to proceed, very painfully, to imple-ment a serious readjustment in the expenses of parish employees. This includes the termination of the employment contract with several of our employees, to whom we will always be very grateful for their service and dedication. Said readjustment process began last summer (2020) and has had to be continued this summer.

Dicho proceso de reajuste inició el verano pasado (año 2020) y ha debido ser continuado en el presente verano. Asimismo, a los fines de mantener en nuestra Parroquia, la pres-encia de las Hermanas Misioneras de María Formadora, hemos tenido que reducir dicha presencia a dos (2) Hermanas solamente. En el verano pasado también se redujo a tres (3) el número de sacerdotes asignados a la Parroquia a tiempo completo (hasta ese momento eran 4).
Todo este plan de reducción de gastos está enfocado sobre todo en esta-bilizar la economía de la Parroquia y en evitar que tenga que ser cerrada la Escuela Católica que tenemos la inmensa fortuna de conservar aún.
Muchas gracias por su atención, interés y oración ante esta difícil situ-ación que está enfrentando nuestra Parroquia.
Likewise, in order to maintain the presence of the Nuns of Misioneras de María Formadora in our Parish, we have had to reduce such pres-ence to only two (2) Sisters (instead of 5). Last summer, the number of priests assigned to the Parish full time was also reduced to three (3) (up to that moment there were 4 full time priests).
This entire plan to reduce expenses is focused above all on stabilizing the economy of the Parish and preventing the Catholic School from having to be closed, which we have the immense fortune to still keep.
Thank you very much for your attention, interest and prayer in the face of this difficult situation that our Parish is facing.

- Biblical Reflection
Se reían de él. Pero él los echó fuera a todos, y con el padre y la madre de la niña y sus acompañantes entró donde estaba la niña, la cogió de la mano y le dijo: “Talitha qumi” (que significa: contigo hablo, niña, levántate). La niña se puso en pie inmediatamente y echó a andar -tenía doce años-.(Marcos 5, 40-42)
And they ridiculed him. Then he put them all out. He took along the child’s father and mother and those who were with him and entered the room where the child was. He took the child by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, arise!” The girl, a child of twelve, arose immediately and walked around. (Mark 5,40-42)
En este domingo decimotercero del tiempo ordinario, el evangelio de Marcos nos presenta dos milagros por parte
de Jesús. El primero de ellos es la curación de una mujer que llevaba muchos años con una hemorragia en su cuerpo. Ella se había tratado con muchos médicos y no tuvo curación. Ella al escuchar de Jesús, se acerca a él y tocándole el manto, queda curada inmediatamente. Este milagro ocurre cuando Jesús va camino a la casa de Jairo, quien es jefe de la sinagoga y cuya hija está en peligro de muerte. Jesús se da cuenta de que alguien le ha tocado su manto y pregunta quién lo ha hecho. Luego la mujer se acerca a Jesús con cierto temor y le confiesa que ella lo hizo. Y Jesús le dice que “tu fe te ha salvado”.
También nosotros estamos llamados a acercarnos con fe a Jesús para que el nos cure de nuestros males no sólo corporales, sino también espirituales. Al igual que está mujer, postrémonos con humildad ante Jesús para que el nos salve de todo mal. Hay que entender que la fe es la condición para aceptar a Jesús, pero lo que nos salva nos es la fe en sí misma, sino el mismo Jesús. La mujer no tocó sólo el manto de Jesús, sino que lo que lo tocó a él mismo. Que la fe sea el vehículo que nos lleve a la fuente de la salvación: Jesús.
El segundo milagro que realiza Jesús es resucitar a la hija de Jairo. Cuando llega a la casa de Jairo, le informan a él que su hija ya está muerta. Sin embargo, Jesús lo conforta con estas palabras: “no temas, basta que tengas fe”. Todos se reían de Jesús al decir que la niña está dormida. Luego Jesús tomando a la niña de la mano y con autoridad le dice: “levántate”. Y la niña se puso en pie y comenzó andar. Todos quedaron maravil-lados por este milagro. En este segundo milagro, la fe del padre es la condición y el medio por el cual Jesús obra el milagro. De nuevo Jesús pide como condición la fe para obrar milagros y también nos pide a nosotros lo mismo. En los momentos difíciles de nuestras vida estamos llamados a acudir a Jesús al igual que la mujer que tenía flujos de sangre y Jairo, el jefe de la sinagoga. Que a lo largo de nuestra vida, la fe nos lleve a una relación más personal con Jesús.
On this thirteenth Sunday in ordinary time, the Gospel of Mark tells us of two miracles on the part of Jesus. The
first of these is the healing of a woman who had suffered a hemorrhage in her body for many years. She had been treated with many doctors and found no cure. Hearing about Jesus, she approaches him and touching his mantle and she is imme-diately healed. This miracle occurs when Jesus is on his way
to the house of Jairus, who is the head of the synagogue and whose daughter is in mortal danger. Jesus realizes that some-one has touched his robe and asks who did it. Then the woman approaches Jesus with some fear and confesses that she did it. And Jesus tells him that “your faith has saved you”.
We too are called to approach Jesus with faith, so that ,he heals us from our ills not only bodily, but also spiritual. Like
this woman, let us bow down humbly before Jesus so that he may save us from all evil. It must be understood that faith is the condition to accept Jesus, but what saves us is not faith itself, but Jesus himself. The woman did not touch only Jesus’ robe, but who she touched was Jesus himself. May faith be the vehicle that leads us to the source of salvation: Jesus.
The second miracle that Jesus performs is to resurrect Jairus’ daughter. When he arrives at Jairo’s house, they inform him that his daughter is already dead. However, Jesus comforts him with these words: “do not fear, it is enough that you have faith.” Everyone laughed at Jesus who said that the girl was asleep. Then Jesus taking the girl by the hand and with authority said to her: “get up.” And the girl got up and started walking. Everyone was amazed by this miracle. In this second miracle, the father’s faith is the condition and the means by which Jesus performs the miracle. Again Jesus asks as a condition the faith to work miracles and he also asks us the same. In the difficult moments of our lives, we are called to go to Jesus like the wom-an who had blood flows and Jairo, the head of the synagogue. May faith lead us to a more personal relationship with Jesus throughout our lives.
