Dear Greenmount families
Faction Carnival Congratulations to all Greenmount Primary students who
participated in our school faction carnival! It was a fantastic day
where all students were given the opportunity to enjoy fun team
games and to achieve their personal best in track events. Even our pre-primary
students were given the opportunity to join us and run in their very first faction
carnival race! It was lovely to see so many parents spectating and enjoying the
beautiful weather. Thank you to the P&C for your coffee and cake stall and to the
parents who donated yummy cakes and biscuits. A big thank you to Mr Hodgson
for all his fabulous organisational skills.
Interschool In Week 4 our school will be hosting the Interschool Carnival on Wednesday 1st and Friday 3rd of November. Parents are welcome to spectate on both days.
The Early Years Conference On Thursday this week Greenmount Primary will be holding the Early Years Conference. This is aimed at parents of students from Kindy to Year 1. If you are able to attend please notify Administration.
Lost Property Due to the constant fluctuation in daytime temperatures, we are finding that our lost property bin is overflowing again. Our school prefects will sort through the clothing this week and, where possible, school jumpers and other uniform items were returned to owners. If you are aware that your child has misplaced a uniform item, please check the
baskets located in the Admin doorway. Any items not claimed by the end of the week will be displayed on the verandah on Friday morning.
It is timely to now provide a reminder to all parents and carers about parking around the school:
the ‘Kiss and Drive’ is a designated area for drop off/pick up of students. Please remember to drive through pick up area (not park), so traffic does not block access for others
Street parking is available in Polygon Place and Woolowra Road
The staff car parks are for staff and DayCare buses only While there may be times when the start and end of school results in congestion in parking areas, it is important to be mindful of student safety – our first priority. Your cooperation is very much appreciated.

Faction Athletics Carnival A windy day dawned on Friday. Putting up tents became a hazardous proposition. The games must go on; onwards and upwards. The students settled in their Faction bays preparing for the day ahead. This was the closest contest after the Jumps and Throws phase of the competition, with only 20 points between the 1st and 3rd place (one team game win). The Distance running events were first off the rank. The 200, 400 and 800 metres were closely contested, all contestants earning valuable points towards their faction total and towards Individual Championship Points for medallions. The Junior (year 1+2) part of our Faction Carnival began with Team Games and Sprint events. A visit from our Pre-Primary’s stopped proceedings as they ran a sprint race. The Carnival continued with great cheering and enthusiasm. The Year 1+2 participants finished their portion of the Faction Athletics Carnival with the announcements of the Year 1+2 Champion and Runner-up Champion. The year 3 to 6 portion of the carnival proceeded through the Team Games, Sprints and eventually the Baton Relays. Scores were close with Prichard finishing in 3
rd Place, Passmore in 2
nd Place, and
only by 2 points, Chipper were victorious. Congratulations to the following Champions and Runner-up Champions:
