Dear Greenmount Families

With the end of the school year (and the holiday

break) just around the corner, there is a real ‘buzz’

of busy-ness around the school. Teachers are fi-

nalising the semester 2 reports, and as a school we

have been reviewing the year’s work finding many

reasons to celebrate some very pleasing out-

comes.

All Year 1 –6 all students completed PAT( Progres-

sive Achievement Tests) in Maths and Reading this

term. This assessment is conducted annually. The

school’s results are compared to standardised

norms, and we have noted improvements from

2020 results, with median scores being higher than

PAT norms in many year levels, particularly in

Maths testing. A reflection of the excellent work of

teachers throughout the school –well done!

VAC SWIM There are over 180 VacSwim locations around Western Australia, so wherever families are spending these summer holidays, there will be lessons near you. Further information about fees, locations and how to enrol can be found by scanning this QR code.

Kindy Orientation

What a wonderful turn-

out of parents, carers

and ‘new’ Greenmount

Primary students for the

Kindy orientation days!

Everyone enjoyed trying

out the fun activities set

up and the opportunity to meet with the staff

and other parents. Thank you Ms Hewton, Mrs

Echeverria, Mrs Walton and Mrs Pasco for

making this a welcoming session.

School Account

When paying for school related activities,

please make sure the monies are going into

the correct bank account. Recently the school

account has received monies for P&C and after

school care.

Generally, all P&C events such as the colour

fun run, Christmas raffle and sausage sizzles

require cash payments to the office into the

dedicated P&C mail box. Alternatively through

Flexi schools using credit card.

Uniform Shop

The Uniform Shop is seeking a volunteer to assist in the shop on a Wednesday morning from 8.20am until 9.15am, all training and assistance is available. This will be a regular spot, hopefully if more volunteers come along this could be shared so you only need to attend once a fortnight etc.

If you can assist please contact Denyse by email at [email protected] or pop by the shop during opening hours.

The 2021 Christmas Raffle is HERE! We would love you to pick up some Christmas themed items suitable for inclusion in gift hampers during your next shopping trip eg. fruit mince pies, shortbread, confectionery, chocolates, Christmas crack-ers, decorations and serviettes, craft items etc. These items will be used to make up the Christmas hamper prizes. The more goodies, the more hampers we have to raffle off and the more money we can make for our children’s school.

Bunnings Shopping Bags are in each classroom for you to place your donations in. Notes with raffle tickets and further information have gone home with all children. There are spares available at the Office.

Raffle tickets are $1 each. Prizes are drawn on Presentation Night, Wednesday 8th December.

The P&C would like to say a HUGE thank you to Bunnings Midland for kicking off the raffle donations, they have donated 20 packs of battery operated white fairy lights, 20 packs of battery operated coloured fairy lights, 10 Bunnings Forklift toys and 10 Bunnings Truck toys which will all be included in the raffle prizes. Also donating 20 Bunnings Shopping Bags which we are using to collect all the donations in the classrooms.

You’re Invited!

The next P&C Meeting will be held on Tuesday 30th November 2021 at 6.30pm in the Staff Room.

We would like to invite you to grab a friend, come along and share some nibbles and see what a P&C meeting is all about.

In 2022 the P&C will need additional members to help with the activities and events that we run throughout the year. Without volunteer help we are unable to run Cake Stalls, Cupcake Days, Discos, Colour Runs, Book Club or provide fund-raising activities to assist with the costs of swimming and dancing programs. Give an hour of your time on Tuesday 30th November to see what it is all about.

Please use the Service Entry and park on the basketball courts.

Bread bags

Thank you to everyone that sent in their bread bags and bread tags back in term 2! They were packaged up and posted back to Wonder, they were

exchanged for a senior cricket bat and ball, a whistle and a new soccer ball!

Well done everyone!

Don't forget you can keep REDycling by taking your soft, scrunchable plastics to your nearest collection point!
