    Connecting DiversityTahun 2013 merupakan tahun Network Expansion dalam strategi Quantum Leap 2011-2015. Pada tahun tersebut, Garuda Indonesia melakukan investasi berupa penambahan jumlah dan tipe pesawat, serta pembukaan destinasi dan rute baru. Pada akhir tahun 2013, Garuda Indonesia juga telah menyelesaikan persiapan akhir untuk bergabung dengan aliansi global SkyTeam di awal tahun 2014.

    Strategi yang dilakukan Garuda Indonesia tersebut semakin mengukuhkan langkah untuk terus tumbuh dan mendominasi pasar full service carrier di Indonesia, serta sebagai global player.

    Dengan memberikan lebih banyak pilihan destinasi kepada penumpang, Garuda Indonesia menghubungkan keanekaragaman potensi budaya, sosial dan ekonomi antara Indonesia dan dunia internasional.

    2013 is the year of Network Expansion in the Quantum Leap 2011-2015 strategy road map. In that year, Garuda Indonesia invested in additional numbers and type of aircraft, and in opening new destinations and flight routes. By the end of 2013, Garuda Indonesia has also completed the final preparations needed to join the SkyTeam global alliance early in 2014.

    Through such a strategy, Garuda Indonesia has positioned itself solidly for continuing growth to dominate the full service carrier market in Indonesia and to become a truly global player.

    By offering more destination choices for passengers, Garuda Indonesia is connecting the social, culture and economic diversity between Indonesia and the world.

    In 2013, Garuda Indonesia started to operate a fleet of ATR72-600 turboprop aircraft to serve short-range flights and routes to remote areas in Indonesia. These Explore sub-brand flights complement the Explore-Jet sub-brand flights with Bombardier CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft in service since 2012.

    By operating this aircraft type, Garuda Indonesia continues to improve connectivity within Indonesia and expand its service network to new growth centers and tourism destinations throughout Indonesia.

    Pada Desember 2013, Garuda Indonesia telah terbang ke 20 destinasi internasional di Asia, Australia, Timur Tengah, dan Eropa. Selain itu, Garuda Indonesia juga melayani 26 destinasi internasional melalui kerjasama code share dengan berbagai maskapai dunia, termasuk Etihad Airways. Garuda Indonesia akan bergabung dengan aliansi global SkyTeamsebagai anggota ke-20, pada 5 Maret 2014, yang akan membuka jalan untuk terbang ke 1.064 destinasi SkyTeam di 178 negara.

    Sebagai persiapan bergabung dengan SkyTeam, Garuda Indonesia sejak Juni 2013 telah berhasil mengimplementasikan Passenger Service System (PSS) ALTEA, yang terintegrasi dengan platform yang digunakan di aliansi maupun mitra code share.

    As at December 2013, Garuda Indonesia flies to 20 international destinations in Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and Europe. In addition, Garuda Indonesia also offer flights to 26 international destinations in code share arrangements with a variety of global carriers, including Etihad Airways. Garuda Indonesia is set to formally join the SkyTeam global alliance as its 20th member on March 5, 2014. This will open the way to fly to 1,064 SkyTeams destinations in 178 countries.

    As part of the SkyTeam joining preparations, Garuda Indonesia since June 2013 has implemented the ALTEA Passenger Service System (PSS) which is fully integrated with the platforms used by alliance members and code share partners.

    Tentang Garuda IndonesiaAbout Garuda Indonesia

    Sejarah penerbangan komersial Indonesia dimulai saat bangsa Indonesia sedang mempertahankan kemerdekaannya. Penerbangan komersial pertama menggunakan pesawat DC-3 Dakota dengan registrasi RI 001 dari Calcutta ke Rangoon dan diberi nama Indonesian Airways dilakukan pada 26 Januari 1949. Pada tahun yang sama, 28 Desember 1949, pesawat tipe Douglas DC-3 Dakota dengan registrasi PK-DPD dan sudah dicat dengan logo Garuda Indonesian Airways, terbang dari Jakarta ke Yogyakarta untuk menjemput Presiden Soekarno. Inilah penerbangan yang pertama kali dengan nama Garuda Indonesian Airways.

    Setahun kemudian, 1950, Garuda Indonesia resmi menjadi Perusahaan Negara. Pada masa itu, Perusahaan memiliki 38 buah pesawat yang terdiri dari 22 jenis DC-3, 8 pesawat laut Catalina, dan 8 pesawat jenis Convair 240.     Indonesias commercial aviation history began when Indonesian people was in struggle to defend their independence. The first commercial flight from Calcutta to Rangoon was made on January 26, 1949, using a DC-3 Dakota aircraft with the tail number of RI 001 and the name Indonesian Airways. In the same year, on December 28, 1949, another DC-3 aircraft registered as PK-DPD and painted with Garuda Indonesian Airways logo flew from Jakarta to Yogyakarta to pick up President Soekarno. This was the first flight made under the name of Garuda Indonesian Airways.

    Then, in a year later, in 1950, Garuda Indonesia officially became a state owned company. During that period, the Company operated a fleet of 38 aircraft comprising 22 DC-3, 8 Catalina flying boats, and 8 Convair 240. Garuda Indonesias fleet continued to grow, and eventually made its first flight to Mecca carrying Indonesian hajj pilgrims in 1956.

    Haji ke Mekkah pada tahun 1956. Perjalanan terbang ke kawasan Eropa dimulai Garuda Indonesia pada tahun 1965 dengan tujuan akhir di Amsterdam.

    Armada Garuda Indonesia dan kegiatan operasionalnya mengalami revitalisasi dan restrukturisasi besar-besaran di sepanjang tahun 1980-an. Hal ini menuntut Perusahaan merancang pelatihan yang menyeluruh bagi karyawannya dan mendorong Perusahaan mendirikan Pusat Pelatihan Karyawan, Garuda Indonesia Training Center di Jakarta Barat.     Perawatan Pesawat di Bandara Internasional Soekarno-Hatta pada masa itu. Di awal tahun 1990, strategi jangka panjang Garuda Indonesia disusun hingga tahun 2000. Jumlah armada juga terus ditingkatkan sehingga Garuda Indonesia menjadi salah satu dari 30 besar maskapai penerbangan di dunia.

    Seiring dengan upaya pengembangan usaha, di awal tahun 2005, Garuda Indonesia memiliki tim manajemen baru, yang kemudian membuat perencanaan baru bagi masa depan Perusahaan. Manajemen baru Garuda Indonesia melakukan evaluasi ulang dan restrukturisasi Perusahaan secara menyeluruh dengan tujuan meningkatkan efisiensi kegiatan operasional, membangun kembali kekuatan keuangan yang mencakup keberhasilan Perusahaan dalam menyelesaikan restrukturisasi utang, menambah tingkat kesadaran para karyawan dalam memahami pelanggan, dan yang terpenting memperbarui dan membangkitkan semangat karyawan Garuda Indonesia.

    Penyelesaian seluruh restrukturisasi utang Perusahaan mengantarkan Garuda Indonesia siap untuk mencatatkan sahamnya ke publik pada 11 Februari 2011. Perusahaan resmi menjadi perusahaan publik setelah penawaran umum perdana atas 6.335.738.000 saham Perusahaan kepada masyarakat. Saham tersebut telah dicatatkan pada Bursa Efek Indonesia pada tanggal 11 Pebruari 2011 dengan kode GIAA. Salah satu tonggak sejarah penting ini dilakukan setelah Perusahaan menyelesaikan transformasi bisnisnya melalui kerja keras serta dedikasi berbagai pihak. Per 31 Desember 2013, struktur kepemilikan saham Garuda Indonesia sebagai Emiten dan Perusahaan publik adalah Negara Republik Indonesia (69,14%), karyawan (0,4%), investor domestik (24,34%), dan investor internasional (6,12%).

    Untuk mendukung kegiatan operasionalnya, Garuda Indonesia memiliki 5 (lima) Entitas Anak yang fokus pada produk/jasa pendukung bisnis Perusahaan induk, yaitu PT Abacus Distribution Systems Indonesia, PT Aero Wisata, PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia, PT Aero Systems Indonesia, dan PT Citilink Indonesia. Dalam menjalani kegiatan operasionalnya, Perusahaan didukung oleh 7.861 orang karyawan, termasuk 2.010 orang siswa yang tersebar di Kantor Pusat dan Kantor Cabang.

    Tentang Garuda IndonesiaAbout Garuda Indonesia

    at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Then in the early 1990s, Garuda Indonesia developed a long-term growth strategy which was applied until the year 2000. The Company also continued to expand its fleet placing Garuda Indonesia among the 30 largest airlines of the world.

    Along with the initiatives in business development in 2005, a new management team took office and formulated new plans for the future of the Company. The new management undertook a comprehensive re-evaluation and overall restructuring with the objective improving operational efficiency, regained financial stability that involved efforts in debt restructuring, increased awareness among employees concerning the importance of service to customers and, most importantly, revived and revitalized the Garuda Indonesia spirit.

    The successful completion of the Companys debt restructuring program opened the way for Garuda Indonesia to go public on February 11, 2011. The Company officially became a public company after the initial public offering of 6,335,738,000 shares. The Companys shares were listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange on February 11, 2011 with code GIAA. This was one important milestone after the Company completed the transformation of its business through hard work and dedication of all parties.     To support its operations, Garuda Indonesia established 5 (five) subsidiaries focusing on products/services that support the parent companys business. The subsidiaries were PT Abacus Distribution Systems Indonesia, PT Aero Wisata, PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia, PT Aero Systems Indonesia, and PT Citilink Indonesia.     11 Mei | MayGaruda Indonesia World Photo Contest (GAWPC) 2013Setelah mencatat sukses di tahun-tahun lalu, Garuda Indonesia kembali menggelar Garuda Indonesia World Photo Contest (GAWPC) 2013 yang merupakan event fotografi berskala internasional sejak dimulai tahun 2007 lalu diikuti para fotografer nasional dan internasional dari ASEAN, Australia, China, Jepang, Timur Tengah dan Eropa. Tema GAWPC 2013 adalah My Enchanting Town dengan entry 15.000 photo dari 10.000 peserta dan 45 negara.

    Garuda Indonesia World Photo Contest (GAWPC) 2013Following its success in the previous year, Garuda Indonesia again held Garuda Indonesia World Photo Contest (GAWPC) 2013, an event of international scale with the first commencing in 2007. Participating in this event were photographers from home and abroad, such as ASEAN, Australia, China, Japan, Middle East and Europe. The theme of 2013 GAWPC was My Enchanting Town with entry amounted to 15,000 photos from 10,000 participants and 45 countries.

    18 Juni | JuneGaruda Indonesia Raih Worlds Best Economy Class 2013 dari Skytrax di Paris Airshow Kinerja Garuda Indonesia semakin diakui di tingkat internasional setelah di ajang Paris Airshow 2013 berhasil meraih predikat Worlds Best Economy Class 2013 dari Skytrax, lembaga pemeringkat penerbangan independen berkedudukan di London. Garuda Indonesia berhasil mengalahkan kandidat maskapai-maskapai lain yaitu Singapore Airlines dan Asiana Airlines. Dalam kesempatan yang sama, Garuda Indonesia juga berhasil meraih award Best Economy Class Airline Seat 2013 dari Skytrax.

    9 September | SeptemberGaruda Indonesia Terbangkan 90.108 Calon Jemaah HajiGaruda Indonesia memulai pelaksanaan penerbangan kloter pertama calon jemaah haji Indonesia secara serentak di 7 embarkasi dari 10 embarkasi yang dilayani. Kesepuluh embarkasi yang dilayani adalah Padang, Solo, Balikpapan, Makassar, Lombok, Jakarta Medan, Palembang, Banjarmasin dan Banda Aceh. Pelaksanaan fase keberangkatan adalah 10 September 2013 hingga 9 Oktober 2013, sementara penerbangan fase kepulangan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 20 Oktober 2013 hingga 19 November 2013.
