Wolf Talk It was a full house on Monday, January 25 as The Waterloo Wolves celebrated their support of the troops with Hero to Hero , an organization that matches emergency services personnel and sports teams with Canadian troops serving overseas. In a special pre-game ceremony, the Wolves presented Kevin McHarg of Hero to Hero and Captain Robin Cooke of the Canadian Armed Forces with autographed Wolves jer- seys, tshirts, handwritten notes from the players to the sol- diers, and tennis balls for the troops‟ ball hockey games. A banner signed by players, coaching staff and the general public was also presented along with a team Canada jersey, and an autographed jersey donated by the OHL‟s Kitch- ener Rangers. Wolf Talk

Wolves celebrated their support of the troops with Hero to

I watched him play in the World Jr‟s, then he came to Kitchener and played and I just think it is neat that he is a south paw like I am. 3. What are you listening to? Anything really, mostly Rise Against 4. What is the most embarrassing band/musician on your iPod? Miley Cyrus 5. Burgers or pizza? Hard Choice, but will have to say burgers 6. Making the Midget AAA team, winning 2 out of 4 tournaments this year and my streak of 4 years in a row of winning the lowest goals against trophy (Brian Steffler Award) in Waterloo. 8. Part of the Wolves‟ philosophy is to pro-

vide first-class training to help players

prepare to compete at a high level.

Wolves‟ defenseman, Mike Moffat, has

been called up by the 2nd place Waterloo

Siskins Jr. B hockey team.

Mike has played well in both Siskins‟

games he has participated in to date.

Goaltenders Jordan Witt and Eric Pei-

cheff continue to fill in for injuries and

illness but have yet to see action.

cup, and one year they won. So, I have

Waterloo Wolves & Hero to Hero continued...

Award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter Jamie Warren attended the game and sang the national anthem.

The Wolves were honoured to welcome Kitchener-Waterloo MP Peter

Braid, Kitchener-Conestoga MP Harold Albrecht, and the Waterloo Re-

gional Police Service Colour Guard to the game.

The game between the Waterloo Wolves and the Kitchener Jr. Rangers

started at 7:30pm, with the

Wolves winning 3 – 0.

The shutout went to Jordan Witt.

Once a Wolf, Always a Wolf!

Although the team didn‟t move forward, their excellent play was recognized by not only the spectators, but by the attending scouts who

voted Mike Moffat (see photo on page 6) to the tournament‟s All-Star Team. Congratulations, Mike!

After the tournament ended, the Wolves enjoyed some time at Big White Ski Resort tubing, snowboarding, skiing and playing hockey on

the beautiful outdoor rink.
