The Waterloo Wolves are proud to be

the host of the 2016 Central Region

Midget AAA Championships.

The Central Region Midget AAA Champi-

onship is the OHF Regional Champion-

ship event with the winner moving on to

compete at the Nationals (Telus Cup).

A total of six teams (including the host,

Waterloo) will participate in the Central

Region Championships . These six in-

clude the top team from the: Alliance,

GTHL, NOHA, OMHA, and ODMHA.

More information will be coming in the near future.

Kelowna Bound in January

The Wolves are traveling to Kelowna, BC in January 2016 for the 37th annual Kelowna

International Elite Major Midget Tournament. This will be the Wolves’ sixth appearance in

the Kelowna International. The tournament runs January 6 to 10. The Wolves will be playing

in the Daily Courier Group.

Game 1 – Jan 6th – 4:30pm Waterloo Wolves at Okanagan Academy White (Rutland W)

Game 2 – Jan 7th – 10:30am Pacific Coast Academy at Waterloo Wolves (Rutland E)

Game 3 – Jan 7th – 7:30pm Yale U18 at Waterloo Wolves (Rutland W)

Game 4 – Jan 8th – 9:30am Waterloo Wolves at Fripp Jr Rockets (Memorial)

Game 5 – Jan 9th – 11:30am Saskatoon Contacts at Waterloo Wolves(Rutland W)

In 2014 the Wolves won the silver medal at this elite tournament and aim to go one better in 2016. In 2014, three

Wolves were named to the Tournament’s All-Star Team, as well as Gary Mantz being named the Tournament MVP.

The Wolves also had the honour in 2014 of being presented with the Blair Dietz-Bill Wylie Memorial Trophy. This

trophy is awarded to the team displaying the greatest work ethic; maintaining aggressive play within the guidelines.

Midget Operating Committee 2015 -2016

Two Waterloo Wolves alumni were playing in Junior C with the Wellesley Applejacks: (left to right) Garrett Schultz (2014/2015) and

Sean McEwan (2012/2013). Just recently Schultz was traded to the Tavistock Braves where he will play with alumni Jake Wiffen,

Kevan Hadad, and Joshua Borys. Currently Tavistock is 4th in the Midwestern League with Wellesley in 6th.
