The Wolves & Big Brothers Big Sisters
Page 4
2011-12 marked the first season of a partnership between the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Waterloo Region. The partnership was a lot of fun for both organizations and is set to continue on into the future. The Wolves’ Director of Team Operations, Gary Spark, would like to share a few of the emails he received from BBBS.
Ladies and Gentlemen, On behalf of Big Brothers and Big Sisters, I wish to express our thanks to the Wolves for the outing we enjoyed in the fall. Attending the game was an event that everyone was looking forward to and the group found it exciting and fast-paced. We also enjoyed the perks you provided in the form of refreshments and between-period contests. Your support of BBBS is much appreciated.
Sincerely, Clyde Wight, Group Leader
Dear Gary. The event went GREAT!! Everyone really enjoyed themselves! The kids really seemed to enjoy skating and talking with the Wolves. When your guys saw one of the children skating alone or having difficulty, they went over to help out- it was really great to see!
Willy announced to everyone that we would be making this an annual event which we are thrilled about.
You have started a great program here. The children who had attended games previous were really excited to get on the ice with the players because they had seen them in action! Thanks for putting on such a fantastic event for our families. The prizes made it exciting too!
Kristen Boyd , Senior Caseworker, Family Initiated Programs, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Waterloo Region
...and from one of the families who attended the Skate with the Wolves:
We would like to express our gratitude for allowing us to attend your games and the skate and meet and greet with all of you. The kids and I very much enjoyed ourselves. We had a very inspiring, delightful time. All the boys were extremely friendly and welcoming. The children are still bragging and showing off their pictures to their friends. Good luck in the play offs and thanks again for everything!
