SEX EDUCATION SHOW• Briefly about the programme: This documentary focuses on a similar subject to what we want our documentary to focus on. It teaches young people about sex, their bodies and helps young people to understand themselves. It looks into issues that are common to young people, mostly about their developing bodies such as the size of their body parts, in order to let them know that it is normal. I teachers them about safe sex and shows the dangers, for example the different STI’s one can get. It uses volunteers as well as scientific research to outline this.

• Channel: 4. This channel is viewed by young people which is why the documentary is shown on this channel to target the young audiences. This would an appropriate channel to broadcast out documentary as out target audiences will also be young audiences of teenagers between the age of 16 and above.

SEX EDUCATION SHOWMise-En-Scene:• At the beginning there is Big Ben and the river Thames, this establishes that the setting and area that the documentary has been shot to the audience.• The documentary begins at the schools playground, this also establishes the setting to the audience and tell us that it is also targeted to young viewers. •The lighting remains natural most of the time.

Camera:•Fast zooms from the beginning sets a fast pace to the documentary. •Camera also spins around the question box in the playground to add a fun element to the documentary.•Zooming, panning and tilt shots are all used to films the volunteers bodies

Editing:•Transitions are used through out the documentary for example where the children are asking questions about sex.•Long shots are used to establish the setting.

Sound:•Non-diagetic music plays at the start which is upbeat playful and fast, which keeps the pace of the documentary fast and fun for the viewers. This is to quickly capture the young viewers attention before they flick the channel.•The presenter also commentates over the music, which shows that it is an interactive documentary.

1. This shot shows interesting camera spins, which is a trick that we can incorporate into our documentary to make it more interesting for the viewers to watch.

2. The use of transition in this shot makes the documentary flow smoothly which would be a goo technique to use in our documentary

3. Statistics used in this shot are important as they show that the documentary is factual, which is why it is important we use them.

4. We can tell that this documentary is interactive as they interviewed young people this shot, which is what we wanted to do in ours.

5. They use an expert to teach the children about their bodies, we are also considering to film a session where it is lead by a sexual health expert.

6. This shot shows written facts, which we can research or use from the sexual health expert.
