These agreements are already being developed in various processes.

For example:

• INSPIRE on spatial data at all levels• Data Centres at EU level• Revision of EU air quality legislation• At national level? – contact your NFP• ……

• EEA will be responsible for the data centre on air

• This data centre must provide the quality assured data at European level for:

air quality emissions of air pollutants

• Design and implement the data centre on air

• This task will need:

the expertise of ETC Air and Climate Change

the support of National Reference Centres on air quality and air emissions

the cooperation of DG Environment, Eurostat and JRC

• Preparatory work on improving the dissemination of air quality data held in Airbase

• Increasing the use of the data will facilitate the design of the data centre on air

• Airview application is almost ten years old – it will be phased out in 2008

• Before - standalone software applications for dissemination in different thematic areas

• Now – customise standard software applications within EEA Data Service
