Our designers’ skilled hands share the same gifted movements of the tailor’s, but the design and manufacturing technologies have significantly evolved, revolutionizing our industry. While our founder relied on hand-pinning fabrics to create volume, today, we imagine,design, and pattern digitally, using 3Dimensions. No longer is it just a thread and needle. Taped seams, ultra-sound cuts, smart textiles were welcome additions to our world of technical apparel. The evolution has been remarkable.

With every new season we design products that are more technical, more protective, more breathable, more ergonomic… And yet, a small part of us remains nostalgic for that time before, when everything was «custom». The mastery of proper fit, tailored to each individual. Technologies will continue to evolve, but this will always remain our ultimate quest. So who is Eider today? Sure, we are a dedicated team of apparel designers. But more accurately, we are present-day versions of our founder…we are tailors 2.0.

ERGONOMIC INNOVATIONYKK PATENT. EIDER ORIGINAL APPLICATION For years, our team of expert patternmakers puzzled over a design dilemma: how to engineer a highly protective jacket, creating a comfortable cocoon around the chin and face without limiting the movements of the head? How can skiers break free of the constraints imposed by the rigid center front zip? We turned to the experts at YKK to develop a solution. Three years later, we are proud to present you the new and revolutionary FIX A SHAPE™ zipper. With the unique teeth and concave curve, the zipper supports the garments design by creating a stable shape when closed. Specially designed Vislon® elements are locked into a curve that follows the shape of the chin without compromising comfort and mobility.
