In the heart of the French Alps Eider has been working since 1962 to bring to-gether a passion for mountain sports, a knowledge of textiles and a constant search for innovation in a style that is unique and modern.

Following in the footsteps of our foun-der, a tailor, today all of our collec-tions come to life in our workshop in Annecy, where they are all imagined, designed, “patterned” and conceived.

Our complete control over the chain between research and development, along with permanent communication with our athletes, technical advisors, clients and providers, means that we are still pushing boundaries, year af-ter year.

Our mission: to offer to all those who ski in the mountain, who love Outdoor activities and who are inspired by the Mountain, technical solutions for their most demanding needs and functional and versatile clothing; and to offer our knowledge as well as our fashionable, technical clothing to as many people as possible.

WINDSTOPPER®X-Fast: insulating second skinMountain sports are synonymous with movement and accuracy. Conventional protections are often limited in terms of comfort and impede the fl ow of certain movements.The WINDSTOPPER® X-Fast is a membrane both stretch, durable, comfortable and water repellent. This new Gore fabric has been designed specifi cally for mountain sports. It acts like a second skin. With its wind-breaker function, it allows you to face tempera-ture drops and rises, without worrying about sweating or feeling cold. And in order to add style to technology, we have chosen to make prints on certain products.

Cette nouveauté Gore a été conçue spécialement pour les sports de montagne et agit comme une se-conde peau. Avec sa fonction coupe-vent, elle permet d’affronter des dénivelés positifs et négatifs, sans se soucier de la transpiration ou du froid. Et pour donner du style à la technologie, nous avons choisi de réali-ser des sublimations sur certains produits.

Herkömmliche Schutz-Bekleidung ist nur bedingt komfortabel und schränkt oft die Bewegungs-freiheit ein. Die WINDSTOPPER® X-Fast ist eine bi-elastische Membrane, haltbar, komfortabel und wasserabwei-send. Diese neue Membrane wurde eigens für den Bergsport-Einsatz entwickelt. Sie verhält sich wie eine zweite Haut. Mit ihrer windabweisenden Funktion und der Fähigkeit Regentropfen abzuweisen und Was-serdampf nach außen zu transportieren, muss man sich keine Gedanken um Schweißtransport oder Kälte machen. Und, um die Technologie auch stylisch zu machen, haben wir uns entschieden, einige Produkte besonders zu veredeln.

DEFENDER®: high protectionComing from Eider research, Defender® is a technolo-gy that makes your garment 100% waterproof, 100% windproof and 100% breathable.For over than 20 years, many innovations have im-proved the Defender® technology so it has become hi-gher peformance and even more comfortable. Beyond labs tests, the Defender technology is validated by our technical advisors. Tested in extreme weather condi-tions and situations, Eider clothing equipped with the Defender Technology is perfectly resistant, light and waterproof. An extensive array of 2-layer and 3-layer membra-nes is currently available in order to satisfy all activity needs from alpinism to skiing and outdoor sports.

For the 2011-2012 Winter season, Eider has developed new DEFENDER® materials. We fi nd for example the DEFENDER® Ripstop Stretch 3 layers, ideal fabric for mountain activities: strength, freedom of movement and maximum protection.Similarly, one of the new fabric is the DE-FENDER® RC Perf Brushed 3 layers, mate-rial mixing protection and comfort, used for skiing products.

WINDEFENDER®: durable and breathableAlways listen to the outdoor users and their needs, our R&D has developed a membrane that combines brea-thability and wind protection: WINDEFENDER®.This exclusive membrane has good water repellency in bad weather conditions. Its breathability ensures optimum comfort for all types of activities.

This technology is integrated into many fabrics and for 2011/12 there are some new additions.For example, the WINDEFENDER® Softshell Snug, ultra soft and light, offers comfort in movement.Similarly, the WINDEFENDER® Woolfelt Weave, re-sistant to abrasion and pilling, is the perfect warm and wind proof layer.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100: human ecologyAll Eider products are labeled Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, which means they are not harmful to humans.Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 is a label that has been de-veloped in the early 90’s, to allow the public to identify textile products without risk to health. Rigorous checks are performed to ensure the absence of dermatolo-gical and chemical risks associated with prolonged contact with skin and textiles.

Bluesign®: the green qualitySome Eider products are also labeled Bluesign® stan-dard, which means they are designed and manufac-tured to meet the highest ethical and environmental standards. Checks are performed on all aspects of the production of a garment. Raw materials, consumer safety, emissions, impact on water during production, the working conditions of employees are all factors taken into account to obtain this industry leading cer-tifi cation. This label meets strict conditions in terms of production, but without compromising on quality. Fi-nally, it provides transparency and full control of the manufacturing process.

Primaloft® Eco: the natural insulationIn a sense of respect for the environment, we choose PrimaLoft® Eco insulation.This garment fi lling, which combines 50% recycled material with PrimaLoft® insulation is light and very warm. This technology has the best weight / breatha-bility ratio in the market.

Polygiène: it’s cleanFor comfort and hygiene, Eider chose to treat its glo-ves with Polygiène. This treatment inhibits the growth of micro-organisms that cause odors and skin irrita-tions. Polygiene is based on silver salt, made from recycled silver. It is applied to fabrics at the end of the production process.Already used in medicine, this treatment is harmless to the skin and increases the lifespan of your gloves.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 : l’écologie humaineTous les produits Eider sont labellisés OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, ce qui signifi e qu’ils ne sont pas néfas-tes pour l’homme.OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 est un label qui a été mis au point au début des années 90, afi n de permettre au grand public d’identifi er des produits textiles sans danger pour la santé. Des contrôles rigoureux sont effectués pour garantir l’absence de risques toxicolo-giques et dermatologiques liés au contact prolongé du textile avec la peau.

Bluesign® : la qualité vertCertains produits Eider sont aussi labellisés du stan-dard Bluesign®, ce qui implique qu’ils sont conçus avec des matières non dangereuses pour l’environnement, la santé, et la sécurité. Des contrôles sont effectués sur les différents aspects de la production d’un vête-ment. Les matières premières, la sécurité du consom-mateur, les émissions de gaz, l’impact sur l’eau, les conditions de travail des employés sont autant de critères pris en compte pour l’obtention de cette certi-fi cation. Ce label répond à des conditions très strictes en termes de production, mais sans compromis sur la qualité. Au fi nal, il permet une transparence et un contrôle total du processus de fabrication.

Primaloft® Eco : l’isolation natureDans une logique de respect de l’environnement, nous avons choisi d’utiliser la version écologique de la ouate PrimaLoft® : le PrimaLoft® Eco.Cette ouate, qui associe 50% de matières recyclées à de la ouate PrimaLoft®, est légère et isolante. Cette technologie dispose du meilleur rapport poids/respira-bilité du marché.

Polygiène : c’est du proprePour plus de confort et d’hygiène, Eider a choisi de traiter ses gants avec Polygiène. Ce traitement em-pêche la prolifération de micro-organismes à l’origine des mauvaises odeurs et des irritations de la peau. Polygiène est à base de sel d’argent, obtenu à partir d’argent recyclé. Il est appliqué sur les tissus lors de la fi nition.Déjà utilisé dans le domaine médical, ce traitement est parfaitement compatible avec la peau et il aug-mente la durée de vie de vos gants.

Bluesign®: die grüne QualitätEinige Eider Produkte sind zusätzlich nach dem Bluesign Standard zertifi ziert. Das bedeutet, dass die verwendeten Materialien weder schädlich für die Umwelt oder für die Gesundheit hergestellt wurden. Zudem werden auch die Sicherheitsvorkehrungen bei der Produktion genau überprüft. Prüfungen wer-den in verschiedenen Bereichen der Produktion eines Kleidungsstückes durchgeführt. Rohmaterialen, Kon-sumentensicherheit, Emissionen, Einfl uss auf das Wasser, Arbeitsbedingungen der Angestellten – all das sind Faktoren, die bei der Vergabe des Zertifi kats berücksichtigt werden. Dieses Label garantiert strikte Produktionsrichtlinien ohne dabei Kompromisse bei der Qualität einzugehen. Schlussendlich bietet es Transparenz und volle Kontrolle des Herstellungspro-zesses.

PrimaLoft® Eco: die natürliche IsolationMit einem Sinn für Respekt gegenüber der Umwelt, haben wir uns entschieden die Ökoversion der Prima-Loft Wärmeisolation zu nutzen: PrimaLoft Eco®.Diese Füllung, die 50 Prozent recyceltes Material mit PrimaLoft® kombiniert, ist leicht und unglaublich wärmeisolierend. Diese Technologie hat das beste Verhältnis von Gewicht zu Atmungsaktivität auf dem Markt.

Polygiène: es ist sauberFür Komfort und Hygiene hat sich Eider entschlossen seine Handschuhe mit Polygiène auszurüsten. Diese Behandlung verhindert das Wachstum von Mikroorga-nismen, die Geruch und Hautirritationen hervorrufen. Polygiène basiert auf Silbersalz, das aus recyceltem Silber hergestellt wird. WITHOUT INNOVATION TECHNOLOGY IS NOTHING

B.A.S : no more shivers down your spineDuring some activities, the lower of the back may be exposed to cold and bad weather. Because of the dor-sal arch, snow may even get in to garments. To avoid this problem, Eider has developed the Back Adjust-ment System (B.A.S). This is a large triangular dorsal belt, with ergonomic fi t that adapts to the shape of the back in all conditions. The B.A.S system provides a unique waterproofness, comfort, and warmth.

Zip Aquagard® by YKK: early closureEider’s technical advisers have challenged our R & D department to make zips on our products even lighter and easier to use, while extending their useful life. To meet these expectations, we opted for a new system on our more technical products: the Aquagard® VIS-LON®.The Aquagard® VISLON®.is a water repellent zip, pro-vided by a laminated polyurethane layer. Sturdy and colorful, it protects from the elements in style.

FIT: size criteriaA technical garment is effective only if it is suitable for a practice. A freerider has different needs than a mountaineer and ice climbing does not require the same freedom of movement than a hiker. Our range has different «Fits», tailored to practice:- Athletic : very close to the body cut for maximum accuracy and performance- Alpine : a tailored fi t, without material excess, for increased comfort.- Regular : versatile cut- Relax : a relaxed cut for more comfort

B.A.S : ça ne fait pas froid dans le dosDurant certaines activités, le bas du dos peut être exposé au froid et aux intempéries. À cause de la cambrure dorsale, la neige peut même s’infi ltrer. Pour éviter ces inconvénients, Eider a mis au point le Back Adjustment System (B.A.S). Il s’agit d’une large cein-ture dorsale en triangle, avec ajustement ergonomi-que, qui s’adapte à la forme du dos dans toutes les conditions. Le système B.A.S assure une étanchéité, un confort, et une sensation de sécurité unique.

Zip Aquagard® par YKK : la fermeture anticipéeLes conseillers techniques Eider ont sollicité notre département R&D afi n de rendre les zips de nos pro-duits encore plus légers et plus faciles à manier, tout en allongeant leur durée de vie. Pour répondre à ces attentes, nous avons opté pour un nouveau système sur nos vêtements les plus techniques : le AquaGard® VISLON®.Le AquaGard® VISLON® est un zip dont la déper-lance est assurée par une couche de polyuréthane laminé. Solide et coloré, il protège des intempéries avec style.

FIT : un critère de tailleUn vêtement technique n’est effi cace que si sa coupe est adaptée à la pratique. Un Freerider n’a pas les mêmes besoins qu’un alpiniste et la cascade de glace ne demande pas la même liberté de mouvement qu’une randonnée. Notre gamme dispose de « Fits » différents, adaptés aux pratiques :- Athlétic : très près du corps, pour un maximum de précision et de performance- Alpine : une coupe près du corps et sans surplus de matière, pour une aisance accrue- Regular : coupe polyvalente- Relax : une coupe plus large, pour encore plus de confort

Zip Aquagard® by YYK: früher VerschlussEiders technische Berater haben unsere Fors-chungs- und Entwicklungsabteilung gebeten, die Reißverschlüsse unserer Produkte leichter und prak-tischer im Gebrauch zu machen und gleichzeitig die Lebensdauer zu verlängern. Um diesen Anforderun-gen gerecht zu werden, haben wir uns für ein neues Reißverschluss-System für unsere technischeren Kleidungsstücke entschieden: der Aquagard® VIS-LON®. Der Aquagard® VISLON® ist dank einer geschweißten Polyurethanmembran ein wassera-bweisender Reißverschluss. Robust und farbenfroh schützt er stilvoll vor den Elementen.

Linings: the hidden face of technologyOur athletes do not have liners, our products have linings. Technical and sophisticated, linings are adapted to different insulation needs. They vary in terms of thickness, materials, and assembly.

The fi rst component of a technical lining is the insu-lating material.For an Eider product, there are three types of in-sulations:

- Eider Standard Insulation: the classic material, bringing warmth and comfort- Down: for practitioners who want to maximum warmth with good compression and resilience- Primaloft®: the best warmth / lightweight / fast drying / compressibility compromise

To meet the different needs of insulation, we use specifi c materilas in various parts of the garment:

- Thermoceram®: exclusive thermo-regulating lining used in sensitive to cold and moisture areas, such as the middle and lower back.- Cormax®: soft but abrasion resistant material, that dries quickly. Used around the collar of the jacket where ski can be sensitive.- Highloft Ripstop: a hollow fi bre that provides warmth and insulation, for improved moisture transfer.- Nylon with a treatment that prevents unwanted moisture transfer.- Stretch for greater freedom of movement- Powder skirt with coating to make it waterproof

The choice of insulation material is important, but the positioning and the association of both of them give effi ciency and comfort to the lining.To get the best result, we construct the garments using body mapping.

- Thermal Control System Premium® lining: a technical body mapping of materials, placed to maximize thermal regulation of various body parts. It’s the high end of our linings. It mixes materials like PrimaLoft® Sport in different weights, Ultra Soft Velvet on neck, Cormax in the collar.- Dual Thermal System® lining: body mapping with a down piece in the back, in order to keep thermoregulation in this exposed area. The rest of the lining is composed of regular Edier insulation.- Thermal Control System® lining: the same construction as Thermal Control System Premium lining, with Eider’s own insulation material instead of PrimaLoft®.

Doublures : la face cachée de la technologieNos athlètes n’ont pas de doublures, nos pro-duits si. Techniques et sophistiquées, elles sont adaptées aux différents besoins d’isolation et varient en termes de garnissage, de matière, et d’assemblage.

La première composante d’une double technique est le garnissage.Pour un produit Eider, on distingue 3 types de gar-nissage :

- la ouate : le classique du garnissage, apportant chaleur et confort- le duvet : pour les pratiquants qui souhaitent un maximum de chaleur, avec une bonne capacité de compression et de résilience- le Primaloft® : le meilleur compromis chaleur/légè-reté/séchage/compressibilité

Pour répondre aux différents besoins d’isolation, nous utilisons des matières spécifi ques à divers endroits du vêtement :

- Thermocéram® : doublage exclusif thermo-régulant utilisé dans les zones sensibles au froid et à l’humidité comme le milieu du dos et le bas des reins.- Cormax® : matière résistante à l’abrasion de la barbe et qui sèche rapidement, utilisée au niveau du cou et des oreilles.- Highloft Ripstop : une fi bre creuse qui apporte chaleur et isolation, pour un meilleur transfert d’humidité- Doublure nylon avec un traitement qui empêche la remontée d’humidité- Stretch pour une meilleure liberté de mouvement.- Pare-neige avec enduction, pour le rendre imperméable.

Le choix du garnissage et des matières est impor-tant, mais le positionnement et l’association des deux donnent toute son effi cacité à la doublure.Afi n d’obtenir le meilleur résultat, nous réalisons des assemblages étudiés en fonction des besoins thermiques des différentes parties du corps.

- la doublure Thermal Control System Premium® : un body mapping technique de matières, placée pour optimiser la régulation thermique des différentes parties du corps. C’est le haut de gamme de nos doublures. Il mixe des matières comme le PrimaLoft® Sport dans différents grammages, l’Ultra Soft Velvet sur la nuque, le Cormax au niveau du cou et des oreilles- la doublure Dual Thermal System® : body mapping avec une pièce de duvet dans le dos, afi n de conserver une thermorégulation dans cette zone -exposée. Le reste de la doublure est composé d’une ouate isolante.- la doublure Thermal Control System® : constrution similaire au Thermal Control System Premium, avec une ouate classique à la place du PrimaLoft®.
