ed sheeran – lego house - directors pitch
DESCRIPTION
This is our directors pitch for our preliminary task Ed Sheeran - Lego HouseTRANSCRIPT
Preliminary Music Task
ED SHEERAN – LEGO HOUSE
Ed Sheeran – Lego House
We thought this would be a good song to try and replicate as it helps us to develop skills in the following areas:
Fast Shot Changes Different Lighting
Different Expressions Varied Camera Angles On Beat Transitions
CHOSEN SONG
To replicate a music video we needed to use the same props
These came in all shapes and sizes and we even needed to build one ourselves
Lego Helicopter and Lego House Acoustic Guitar Headphones Arm Bands
Lamps of Varied Sizes Xbox Controller Notepad and Pen Orange Folder
Hair Wax Horses
Picture Frame Potted Plant
Mirror Blue Towel
PROPS
Costume was very simple for our replication of Lego House
In the video Ed wears black jeans, a hoodie and a t-shirt with a logo on
In different shots he is seen with his hoodie off and on
In 1 shot the hoodie is seen in the background.
Although Ed normally has his hair down, we kept a consistent hairstyle for every shot, apart from of course the
shot where Ed is seen applying hair wax to his hair. Here the style changed slightly.
Ed wears bands on his arm for various shots and we also found bands to use. This is listed in props.
Overall the costume was simple to replicate. We had no trouble with this.
COSTUME
Our location changed from time to time. Most of the time when Ed is singing he is walking down a path through a field. We found this hard to replicate so used an alley where there was bushes to be seen either side.
Other shots included a corridor where Ed prepares for the video. A shot of fans shrieking is also seen and for this we used a large room
Ed also sings in a house, therefore we used a house as one of our main locations
Another brief shot is by a reservoir and in field where horses can be seen.
We used a coach to replicate Ed in his tour bus, singing and playing with Lego.
The only other location we used was a rooftop where Ed is seen playing his acoustic guitar.
Overall the locations didn’t prove to be difficult, however one may argue that our reservoir was not very large.
LOCATION
In total our shot list exceeded 50 shots. In two minutes it was largely jump cuts and on beat transitions. Shots didn’t
last long, the longest shot lasted about 5 seconds, while some lasted for only 1
A link to the storyboard is posted below. The storyboard can also be found under my A2 blog on WordPress under
