Why do bad things happen to good people? We'll neverknow the full reason for it , but I met one person

who has her own ideas about it. Her life story made me reconsider my minor complaints. She seems so content inher current state that you have no idea of what happened tocreate the person she is today. Aline McDonald's story isamazing. I was unprepared for what she told me.Currently Aline is the owner of Kab Boutique on Pitt Streetin Cornwall. She has been fighting for 11 months now torebuild her life and her boutique which was damaged bythe fire in the next building on Pitt St and 2nd a year ago.She has suffered a mini stroke and a heart attack, has beenliving in a campsite, and is still waiting to be able to moveback home.Aline was born in Sarnia, Ontario, her family moved toCornwall soon after. At the tender age of 4 her birth mothergave her up for adoption to protect her from further abuseby her birth father. This placed her in the home of Yvetteand Alphonse Archambault. Her new dad was in the AirForce. Yvette was a skilled milliner, owner of Yvette'sHaute Couture, who taught Aline many of the crafts sheused, sewing, beadwork, and creating, and built a love forjewels and such. Growing up with this training put it intoAline's blood. Yvette, made all the headpieces for Vanity,for brides and the ladies in wedding parties. After Yvettedied in a car accident, Aline did work for them, too.

And now she owns the building. Life comes full circle sometimes.Aline is a left-handed person. (As you see in research thatmeans she can use both sides of her brain well, and hercorpus callosa is thicker: innate artistic talent) When shewas in elementary school the educators at the time wereafraid of left-handedness and tried to train it out of children. Aline's left hand was tied to her chair behind herback, and she was treated as not trainable and it was predicted to not succeed. She giggles that one of her former teachers is now a regular customer in her store. But

Aline attributes the thought that “Can't” is never part ofher vocabulary to her mom.Aline is self taught for gem work and jewelry design.When she lived in North Bay she fell in love with Amethyst, plentiful around there. She has worked withsome Gemologists and she has held her own designingwith formally trained Jewellers. The gems have a languageof their own that Aline can hear. She sees them differently.She has created some beautiful pieces.It took her friends much convincing to get Aline to go outwith Brent. With her past she wasn't keen on the male ofthe species. But it payed off. She spent 31 years happilymarried to her soul mate before he was unfortunately lostto cancer. Aline is no stranger to cancer. She has survivedit 7 times! And thirteen car accidents!Courage is the absence of Fear. Aline bravely welcomesevery day, thanking God for her many blessings as shewatches the sunrise over the St. Lawrence River. God hasa plan for her life and she is doing her best to live it out.She is made stronger with each trial and hardship she hasendured and you will find she is an amazing person.
