Some people are fortunate to know what they want tobe when they grow up from an early age. Diana LeeDeschamps is one of those people. And the clients whocome to her are fortunate as well.Diana Lee says she knew all her life she wanted to cut hair.From an early age she would cut her dolls hair and beperplexed when it didn't grow out. Her mom, who recentlyretired from hairstyling, gave her a doll with the hairthat pulled out and only permitted Diana Lee to cut theponytail. Mom's shop was closed on Mondays, and that'swhen Diana Lee would sneak in and experiment on her

friends. One time when they were 12, her friend KrissyGarlough's waist length hair was given a little trim... up toher shoulders! Fortunately, nobody got in trouble.By the time grade 12 was ending Diana Lee had a goodlist of clientelle. She had lots of experience, but nocredentials. So, she went to the best school at the time,Marvel, in Ottawa. She finished the program and went toToronto to takeAdvanced Cutting. Now she has a Mastersin Colouring, and numerous seminars on Permanents,Colouring, Cutting, etc under her belt. This is why some ofher clients, like Lana Barkley will say, “Do Whatever!”every time since 14 years old and let Diana Lee createsomething stylish.Diana Lee finds she works best when you have a picture ofwhat you want and she can use her skills to make your hairlike the image. This is better than trying to describe itverbally. She says, “I'm the HairWhisperer!” and now sheis part of what she calls the “Dream Team!” AlthoughDiana Lee has trained to do anything esthetics, she isloving her new space in Beauty Inside on Kincaid, inBrockville. Working with Terry Ann Hare, clients havea full service team. Terry Ann has the esthetics salonupstairs and Diana Lee can focus on her first love -cuttingand colouring hair and facial waxing on the main floor.

Although, Diana Lee is sad that she just closed herCardinal 'His and Hers Hairstyling' it was time for a newchange. She was there for 19 years. She found most of herclients had moved closer to Brockville and it made senseto go, too. In 23 years she only moved twice. How shefound Kincaid Place is interesting.
