The 25 strong, interschool swimming squad travelled to Kojonup, finishing first outright and third on handicap. Thank you to all the parents who provided support and assistance for these events. There was a pleasing 20% improvement in attendance this term. Well done to the 188 students who attended regularly this term, missing less than five days. We would like all children to attend regularly, only missing school when they are sick or it is absolutely necessary, to give them the best chance to reach the standards expected for their year. When students are absent parents and guardians are asked to provide a reason for the absence by note, phone or text. Towards the end of term teachers and students have been familiarising themselves with the NAPLAN Online tests, parents and students can view the practice tests at the public demonstration site at www.nap.edu.au. Students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 will use a secure lockdown browser for the actual test in week 3. Students and parents do not need to be concerned about the test; the test is just one part of the school program and on the day students just need to simply try their best. Next term Mrs Adams is taking long service leave and we wish her an enjoyable break. Mr Murray Watkins will return to Boddington to teach the Year 1-2 class. Thank you to all the staff for their hard work this term. Holidays are now here and students and staff can take a well-earned break to recharge their batteries ready for Term 2. Community Update Week 10, Term 1 2017

Term 1 was an active term with

two swimming carnivals, the

walk to school for Harmony Day

and primary and secondary

student councillors attending the

Grip Leadership courses at the

Convention Centre. The 25

strong, interschool swimming

squad travelled to Kojonup,

finishing first outright and third

on handicap. Thank you to all the parents who provided support and

assistance for these events.

There was a pleasing 20% improvement in attendance this term. Well

done to the 188 students who attended regularly this term, missing

less than five days. We would like all children to attend regularly, only

missing school when they are sick or it is absolutely necessary, to give

them the best chance to reach the standards expected for their year.

When students are absent parents and guardians are asked to provide

a reason for the absence by note, phone or text.

Towards the end of term teachers and students have been familiarising

themselves with the NAPLAN Online tests, parents and students can

view the practice tests at the public demonstration site at

www.nap.edu.au. Students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 will use a secure

lockdown browser for the actual test in week 3. Students and parents

do not need to be concerned about the test; the test is just one part of

the school program and on the day students just need to simply try

their best.

Next term Mrs Adams is taking long service leave and

we wish her an enjoyable break. Mr Murray Watkins

will return to Boddington to teach the Year 1-2 class.

Thank you to all the staff for their hard work this

term.

Holidays are now here and students and staff can take a well-earned

break to recharge their batteries ready for Term 2.
