In case you haven't heard, Mattltuck will be the site of a cocktail and diii- inp: lounge in the form of a converted ferry. The ferry which ran between Fire Island and Patchogue, Is owned by Miss Billie Clarke of New Suffolk. The lounge restaurant will be on the Main Road, a t the corner of Bay Ave.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Berliner of Riley Avenue are proud to announce the birth of a bouncing baby boy. The baby was born Saturday, September 2nd, in Greenport Hospital. Best wishes to the new arrival and his happy p ar­ents.

Mr. Burt K ahn visited the homo of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Becker of Cox Neck Road. Mr. K ahn is a former coacn of M attltuck High School. He is now the Athletic Director of Qulnnlpac Col­lege, Hamden, Connecticut.

Mr. and Mi’s. David Sailor and their two children, Sharon and Wayne, have recently moved back to M attltuck. They are presently staying with Mrs. Sailor’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Walgo. The Sailors have resided In Kew G ar­dens Hills, Queens, for the past tv/o years.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wllsberg of Ole Jule Lane drove their daughter, Judy, to Potsdam, New York, where she is now a freshman. Judy is a former graduate of M attltuck High School.

On Saturday, September 23rd a t 9 A. M. the M attltuck Presbyterian Church will hold a rummage sale. The sale will be in the social hall of the church.

The Mothers’ Club of Sacred H eart Church is having an Attic and Rum ­mage sale in the parish hall on Friday and Saturday, September 15 and 16.

Glenn Ki-ouse was home for a few days, visiting his mother, Mrs. Polly Krouse, before returning to college at South Fallsburgh, N. Y. Glenn spent the summer s.s a bellhop a t the Gabber Hotel In Kiamesha Lake, N. Y.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Power and their four children, Michael, Noreen, Jeanne, and Sean, of Old Bridge, New Jersey, have returned home after a ten day visit with Richard’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Power, of Riley Ave.

County Charter Revision Group Holds First Meeting Sept. 28

The Suffolk County Charter Revision Committee will hold its first public meeting on September 28th a t 8 P. M. in the auditorium of Suffolk Commun­ity College in Selden for the purpose of acquainting Interested citizens with the Committee’s activities and goals. Dr. Charlton Chute, consultant to the Committee and an em inent authority in the field of Home Rule Charters, will present background information and will enlarge upon the ways in which community groups can partici­pate in the work of the Charter Com­mittee.

The Committee believes th a t civic proups wi'l bo ab'.e to augm ent its own studies into ihe needs and problem-; of the Coimty, and tlic n meotina; is intended to initiate a cl' Uneue ’vhich will give the community a vnic ’ i the charter revision process. It is Ire'no; iieid early to give those interested time to prepare for the later formal hearings.

The Suffolk County Charter Revision Committee is a bi-partisan commission created In the Spring of 1967 to pre­pare a charter th a t will meet the needs of Suffolk’s growing population.

County Health Department Says Flu To Rise This Winter

W ith the coming ol the winter .wa- son. Dr. George E. Leone, Commissioner of H ealth for Suffolk County, said tha t some Increase in influenza cases of Llie A2 typo Influenza virus may be ex­pected during the winter and spring of 1967-68 in the eastern states, accord­ing to available Information from ttic U. S. Public Health Service. However, no firm statem ent can be made as to the Incidence of the disease In any given area, the Commissioner pointjd out.

The adm inistration of influenza vac­cine is a mcdicai decision between the family physician and the individual requesting the immunization. Dr. Lci-ne .said. Vaccination should be performed between now and early December l)e- cause there is a 2-week interval be­tween vaccination and maximal de­velopment of antibodies.

Dr. Leone said th a t Influenza im­munization is not currently Indicated for all Individuals but it is primarily indicated for those groups a t higli- rlsk; the chronically 111, the aged, and patients living In Institutions such as nursing homes and long-ter'm care facilities.
