Ten years since AskPatty.com Inc. launched with blogs, a question-and-answer forum and a certification program for automotive retailers, founder Jody DeVere said she believes the com- pany has made a positive difference. “I believe I’ve had a great impact on getting those women’s voices heard out in the market- place,” she recently told Tire Business. Rather, it was a glaring disconnect between fe-male customers who make up the majority of ve-hicle maintenance decisions and what’s typicallya male-dominated automotive aftermarket.

It was hardly a “female-friendly” landscape.Ten years since AskPatty.com Inc. launched

with blogs, a question-and-answer forum and acertification program for automotive retailers,founder Jody DeVere said she believes the com-pany has made a positive difference.

“I believe I’ve had a great impact on gettingthose women’s voices heard out in the market-place,” she recently told Tire Business.

Belle Tire hit with classaction for alleged fraud

DETROIT—Attorneys from a NewYork law firm have filed a class-action complaint against Belle TireDistributors Inc., claiming the tiredealer deceptively told customersthey had to buy more tires than

they needed to prevent their automobilewarranties from being voided.
