In 1949 Howard and Vivian Barnes, a year after starting their lives together, opened Conyers Jewelers. Mr. Barnes, a trained watchmaker, ran the store along with his mother, Mrs. Ruby Thompson Barnes. Mrs. Vivian Barnes worked in At-lanta until 1967 when she joined Howard in the daily running of the store. In 1990 their granddaughter Teri Tidwell-Stanley, a trained gemologist and jeweler, joined the team. Today this store is the oldest continu-ous business in the City of Conyers.

Over the past 66 years, they have satis-fied their customer’s fashion requirements; from engagement rings and wedding sets to diamonds, pendants, earrings, even cus-tom jewelry upon request. The store also carries a wide variety of Pandora charms, Endless Jewelry, Elle & Frederick Docious, Sterling Jewelry for Women & Children, Bulova watches, large variety of Pearls, Freshwater and Tahitian and other sterling silver jewelry.
