A-1 Home Healthcare is a family-owned Iowa-based company specializing in quality medical equipment; supplies and specialty services for patients at home or residing in care facilities. The year 2011 marks the 32nd Anniversary for A-1.

A-1 is one of Iowa’s most complete providers of enteral, ostomy, urological and diabetic supplies. In addition, they provide oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP equipment and accessories, pulse oximeters and nebulizers. Bedroom supplies include hospital beds, pillows, commodes, bedpans, lifts, slings and trapezes as well as lift chairs and Aids to Daily Living. For women’s health A-1 offers private fitting rooms for mastectomy products and breast pumps. A-1 offers a wide selection of mobility and bath products. A-1 also offers in-home infant monitoring equipment. There are three retail store locations, Fort Dodge, Cedar Rapids and Des Moines.

A-1’s professionally trained staff learns as much as possible about the patient’s medical needs so they can demonstrate the most appropriate product option. They work closely with physicians and caregivers in providing high quality yet cost effective equipment and supplies. The staff provides product and equipment instructions, individualized care plans and timely patient follow-up’s. Delivery, in- home setup, comprehensive insurance billing services, 24-hour emergency service by certified professionals complete the full range of services for the home patient. A-1 goes beyond just selling a product.

A-1 is accredited by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. Becoming accredited addresses A-1’s level of performance in key function areas, such as a patient’s rights, patient safety, infection control and the ability to provide safe, high-quality medical equipment and supplies. Obtaining and maintaining accreditation is another step to achieving excellence in the industry.
