Jonsson’s Independent Wins AgainIn 1988, Steve and Sylvie Jonsson opened a new store in Kemptville that would grow and expand with our community. Today, everyone knows Jonsson’s In-dependent at the Kemptville Mall.

With the latest expansion complete selections throughout the store have increased, their organic section carries more choices, and their garden centre is now over 10 000 square feet. With more products the choices you expect to fi nd are here, right down the street. And let’s not forget Canada’s best selling house brand President’s Choice bringing hundreds of products and No Name Brand at a fraction of the price of name brand items.

As our community has grown, so has the support that Steve and Sylvie have given back to our area through donations to many local charities and events. To name a few: The North Grenville Public Library, KDH, the Sal-vation Army, sports teams and the list goes on. The BBQ from the store is famous as the hardest working BBQ in the area over the summer months.

Steve and Sylvie promise to continue to grow and bring in the products you want. Their commitment to our community is strong and growing as they look to the future. Come see the difference at Jonsson’s Independent and we are sure you will agree that

O’Heaphy’s pub wins for third year in a rowLocated on Clothier Street East is a friendly little pub with a delightful patio that is now a landmark for good food an pleasant ser-vice.

Getting together for a celebration could not be easier if you go to this pub with their “banquet” room upstairs or their large pat-io. The patio is a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy a couple of the pubs fi ne drafts while

O’Heaphy’s Irish Pub is one place you should try if you have not been yet. The dark wood and broad beams inside deliver the atmos-phere of a traditional pub while the patio is there perfect spot for hot summer days. Stop in and try a pint with your meal and see why they were voted Best Pub 3 Years in a Row!

Advance Readers

More than paint and décor, Canadian Paint and Wall-paper’s owner and operator, Rob Segan, offers his personal expertise and enthusiasm for each project that comes through his door.

“I want to create excitement around people’s projects when they come into the store,” Rob said.

“I try and pull the stress out of their projects. Get people to move away from deadlines and the hammer and nails of projects so they can focus on the fun.”

With more than 15 years experience in the paint and décor industry, and three lines of all Canadian made paint products, the people at Canadian Paint and Wallpaper are equipped to fulfi ll any redecorat-ing needs.

“I want to guide people into getting something they will really like,” said Rob, who added he embraced his

role of leading people away from plain white paint.

His positive and knowledgeable approach to renova-tion has helped earn Canadian Paint and Wallpaper a Reader’s Choice Platinum award in the category of paint and décor.

Rob, who was humbled by the reader’s votes, wanted to express his thanks to the Kemptville community for their continued support.

Canadian Paint and Wallpaper offers no charge in home consultations for window treatments. With an agreement to purchase window treatment, they also offer a free paint colour consultation while they are in the home.

Located at 2674 Hwy. 43 in the Cornerstone Mall in Kemptville, Canadian Paint and Wallpaper has prod-ucts and expertise needed for any summer project.

Bayfield Manor Retirement Home first opened its doors in May 1990. At that time there were 23 rooms on the retirement side. Since then the owners have expanded twice, based on waiting times. There are now 57 rooms. It is a very busy place!

As well as providing retirement rooms, the facility also has 66 nursing home beds. Our mission is to provide each resident under our roof, the opportunity to live in an environment that will recognize him/her as an individual with strengths that need to be maintained,

needs that require support and opportunities to happiness and fulfillment in his/her later years. Within that mandate we also strive to open our doors to service groups, churches and support agencies within the community so that our residents continue to participate in community life.

Bayfield management and staff are thrilled with this award. We do take great pride in providing a service to our clients and it is special when the community recognizes our efforts.

Thank you, our customers, for believing in and encouraging us.We believe we have earned this recognition, because of our

commitment to recognizing each of our customers as individuals and working with them to produce a product we are both proud of.

Celebrating 5 Years in Kemptville

This June marks an important anniversary as it was 5 years ago that Bill Osborne took over the GM dealer-ship in Kemptville and 5 years later things are looking good.

The Reader’s Choice Awards represent the expression from area readers of the Advance of their confidence in General Motors, Bill Osborne and his team of profes-sional employees. We have industry leading vehicles, we have added Buick & GMC brands, expanded our services, extended our service hours, and continue to look for ways to best serve our valued customers.

We are fortunate to be part of a community as vibrant as ours. We are thankful and take pride in supporting the many organizations, local charities and events that we have become involved with. So again, we thank you for your continued support.

We invite you to stop in and see our exciting new line of cars, trucks and SUVs or our great selection of used vehicles. Our service, parts and body shop departments are always there for advise, service, and to ensure that your vehicle stays on the road for many years.

Now Bigger and Better to serve you more…As part of their 50th Anniversary celebrations this year, Canadian Tire opened the doors of its new Kemptville store on May 19. With help from a stellar turnout of customers, staff and invited guests, Canadian Tire opened its doors and is now officially open for busi-ness. This expansion is just an example of the explo-sive growth in Kemptville and Canadian Tire being a landmark for this community and its residents.

Bigger really is better at this flagship store. More selec-tion, more products, bigger aisles, as well as the much anticipated addition of Marks’ Work Warehouse.

“We’re excited to be growing in Kemptville and better serve our customers with Canadian Tire’s new Smart Store format that features a robust lineup of products at great value and a unique shopping experience,” says Frank Hoffman, Associate Dealer, Kemptville Canadian

Tire. “The renovated store reflects our commitment to being loyal to our customers by delivering top-notch customer service.”

At 42,000 square feet, and with more than 60,000 products on the shelves, the new store truly is a shop-per’s paradise. Everyone will find something: whether it’s for inside, outside, the do-it-yourselfer, or the car enthusiast, Canadian Tire has you covered. Easy checkout and customer pickup will have you in and out in no time, although you will be tempted by the ongoing new and expanded product line.

In keeping with the Smart Store philosophy, you will find creative, inviting displays in the Automotive, Sea-sonal, Home Improvement, Lighting, Tools, and Sport-ing Goods departments offering competitively priced merchandise and unparalleled attention to detail.

RB Heating and Air Conditioning Ltd. has built a solid reputation within the community since 1992, with the goal to listen to what people need from their heating/cooling systems, give it to them, and then to follow up with exceptional service that satisfies each and every time.

Today’s “Go Green” initiatives are the way of the future, and a company in the Heating and Air Conditioning industry must have a pretty good view of the changes in the way people are heating and cooling their homes. That’s why “Energy Star” rated HVAC systems,

“On Demand” Water Heating, “Geothermal Heat Pump Technology”, and “Alternate Fuel” source, are all terms that Rick Buffham understands thoroughly. In fact, his company specializes in these forms of heating and cooling.

Rick and the staff, would like to personally ”Thank” their clients and friends for voting RB Heating the Number One Heating Contractor two years in a row. We invite you to call 613-258-1262 or visit us online at rbheating.com or better yet, drop by our showroom at 845 Prescott Street.

Sugarbush Studio – Betty CooperThank you for the honor of being named top wedding photographer and studio. In business for twenty-two years, it has be my goal to offer personalized service to prod-uce images that are capturing the special moments forever.

”Betty’s artistic and technical abilities were evident in every photograph and the al-bum that was carefully prepared was out-standing and nothing less than a priceless masterpiece.” Michael & Colleen Switzer (Wedding 11/09/10 Perth, ON)

A special feature that I enjoy is Heritage Ses-sions, which involve photographing young children and women in my collection of antique white dresses and shirts. These

timeless images render well for books and artistic pieces.

The other is equine photography. With fi fty years experience in the equestrian world, I enjoy teaching throughout the USA, Equine and Personal Portraiture. Farm calls, stallion promotion, rider portraiture and equine cus-tom assignments can be easily arranged.

A continuous effort to increase knowledge and offer quality products, be it albums, books, paintings or fi ne art home decor has created returning clients and referrals. Allow me to create something special for you.

Looking for, and fi nd-

has never been as easy

as it sounds.

Finding the courage

ready yourself for an

ever changing and often

diffi cult job market can

be diffi cult.

CSE Consulting in

Kemptville is just one

service provider work-

ing with Employment

Ontario to help job seek-

ers fi nd that edge they

need to move ahead.

CSE Consulting re-

been established since

2002, to a new and more

spacious location at the

Lofts of Market Row at

125 Prescott St. in Old

In 2010, Employment

Ontario had created a

new model for their ser-

vice providers to follow.

As a provider, CSE Con-

sulting enhanced their

services and programs

as part of the new mod-

space for their clients

and that was the reason

for the move to Prescott

CSE Consulting has

taken a leading role in

helping people get back

on their feet and get

“A lot of what we do

is motivational,” said

Maureen Kort the direc-

explaining how clients

are given a need assess-

and then directed to the

most appropriate path.

Kort says there are

so many ways that CSE

out in the workplace.

“We have to make a

need assessment and

employment analyses,”

she said.

These three volunteers at the medieval festival held at the Kemptville College Univer-

supporters of this proj-

ect from the very begin-

ning,” explained library

board chair Lynne Bax-

ter in a statement about

the announcement. She pointed out that

the naming rights rep-

resent one of the biggest

single donations to the

fundraising campaign. At the announcement,

the group of library sup-

porters stood in the mid-

dle of the large and airy

main room of the Noren-

berg building. Ardent library sup-

porter Harry Pratt

looked around at the

line of large windows

running along the street

side of the building, the

expansive ceilings and

artfully crafted shapes of

the walls and said, “I call

this the jewel of Prescott

Street.” Speaking for Bill McEl-

rea, the chair of the Room

to Read Campaign, Pratt

thanked the Norenberg

family for their generos-

ity and support. Pratt,

no stranger to helping

the North Grenville com-

munity, explained that

in any fundraising drive

there is a defi ning mo-

ment. He used a baseball

analogy. He said to the

Norenberg family, “Your

family put the ball out

of the park. You were the

ones who hit the home

run.”“When our children

were growing up they

would go to the library,”

said Christa Norenberg. NORENBERG see page 2
