Re: Annual conference – Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders The ANZAED 2016 conference in picturesque Christchurch is rapidly approaching on 26-27 August. http://conference.2016.anzaed.org.au The conference theme, Building Blocks to Understanding, focusses on the different elements that can help us better understand the causes, maintaining factors and treatments elements of Eating Disorders. The Keynote speakers will be Dr. Cynthia M. Bulik from the University of North Carolina and the Karolinska Institute, whose is a world leader on many of the building blocks of eating disorders, from genetics to psychosocial, and is also a brilliant and inspiring speaker. Dr Roger Mulder from the University of Otago is a world expert on personality disorders, and will deliver a keynote address on the intersection of eating disorders and personality disorders. Other “Building Blocks” include 4 pre-conference workshops on couple work, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy with adolescents, medical aspects of ED management and Binge Eating Disorder. There are also 11 in-conference workshop selections – surely something of interest for everyone. The two Plenaries look at - Building an integrated system for eating disorder treatment. Can it be done? - Buildings blocks to future generations: “Working with mothers with eating disorders: Keeping the baby in mind”

ANZAED conferences are renowned for their warm inclusive atmosphere. There will be welcome morning tea for first-timers, and a cocktail party at the famed “cardboard cathedral” on Friday evening.
