Memo from: The YSC Youth Office at the Catholic Center for Charismatic Renewal

Re: Youth Explosion Tour 2013 ─ various cities & dates

To: Pastors, Directors of Religious Education, Youth Ministers

Greetings in the Lord,

The mission of the Youth Staying Connected (YSC) Youth Office is about proclaiming Jesus to the teenagers

through the power of the Holy Spirit. One of the ways this goal is accomplished is by sponsoring the annual

Youth Explosion program.

The latest event in March 2013 gathered over 700 teens to share life experiences, music, drama and

knowledge of the Word of God. This year finds us doing things in a NEW way. As you will notice the

Youth Explosion was moved to the fall. It is scheduled for Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the St. Bonaventure

Catholic Church Activity Center, 1918 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211. Because the 14th of October

is a holiday, we are hosting this event on a Sunday.

The theme for the Youth Explosion Tour is “HOMECOMING” (1 Peter 2:19). The keynote speakers are:

Fr. Toby Guerrero, pastor of St. Peter the Apostle in Laredo, TX who will be sharing his experience from

World Youth Day 2013; Lloyd & Nancy Greenhaw, lay evangelists to Africa, Turkey and throughout the

United States; DJ Bernal, founder of „Modern Teen Ministries‟ who has a passion for spreading the Word of

God. Praise & worship will be led by Glorious Dei. Pre-registration is $15.00 to include dinner (late & on-

site registration is $20.00) See flyer!

As part of the NEW evangelization process, the tour begins in S. A. and moves to Laredo and on to San An-

gelo. The purpose for the tour is to reach more teens. I invite you and your young people to attend the

“Youth Explosion Tour” at the location nearest you. Please inform your youth groups and Religious Educa-

tion classes about this event. If additional promotional materials are needed, please do not hesitate to call our

YSC Office at 210-226-7070 or email [email protected]. On-site registration will be

available. For more details go to the web site www.youthstayingconnected.com and go to the YE button.

Also, please call the office and book the Confirmation Retreats for your parishes. God bless you and pray for

me.

Sincerely in Christ,

th–12

th. A powerful tour designed to reach both extremes of today’s

youth groups; the leaders within the group and those youth who are still struggling to believe. Expect Anointed Praise & Worship Music, Charismatic Prayer and an empowerment session are all a part of this life changing tour.

2013 Keynote Speakers

Fr. Toribio "Toby" Guerrero Fr. Toby Guerrero is the pastor of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and

serves as a cleric of the Diocese of Laredo. Originally Ordained for the

Archdiocese of San Antonio ,Fr. Toby rooted at St. Bonaventure where he

first became a Charismatic Priest. His message is powerful and full of the

experiences he himself struggled though and conquered , inspiring him to

connect to the youth of today. Fr.Toby attended the World Youth Day 2013

in Rio De Janiero , where thousands of youth from around the world came

together to glorify the name of Jesus. Shown in the photograph to the left is

Fr. Toby at World Youth Day, arm out-stretched at the precise moment of

the consecration (transubstantiation). Note that a single ray of light fell upon

his raised hand.

Daniel Bernal Jr “DJ”

DJ would start his walk with Christ as a young person consistently serving in the church. This

would keep him involved all through elementary and middle school. Although he attended

Mass every weekend , it would not be until the college years that he found a deep love and

bond with Jesus Christ. DJ is a dynamic speaker appealing to all audiences, especially the

youth of the world. His passion and love to spreading the Word has been captivating audiences

since 2009. In 2011, DJ founded „Modern Teen Ministries‟ a non-profit organization focused

on building a better world by increasing leadership skills, ethics coaching, and evangelization.

DJ continues to spread faith to the youth of all denominations, not just Catholics.

Lloyd and Nancy Greenhaw Lloyd and Nancy Greenhaw, in April of 1991, responding to Pope John Paul's

encyclical Mission of the Redeemer, decided to leave successful careers in or-

der to serve the Church in the full-time ministry of Catholic evangeliza-

tion. Lloyd and Nancy have ministered through parish missions, conferences

and retreats for adults and youth, prison ministry, and work with the home-

less. In conjunction with Renewal Ministries , they teach Evangelization

Schools in various regions of the country. As Country Coordinators for Renew-

al Ministries they have led numerous outreaches to several African countries as

well as Turkey, Haiti, Samoa, and Papua New Guinea. They work closely with

the Church authorities to teach catechesis, apologetics, and the New Evangeli-

zation.

Glorious Dei

San Antonio‟s own praise and worship band, The group came together after Javier

Sauceda and Hector Sandoval Jr. had a life changing experience with the living God.

The group has been leading worship since 2004. They do not limit the power of God,

so their ministry is for all ages. Check them out on Facebook.
