Thank you for supporting Capital Pride 2014!

Pride is an important part of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer (LGBTQ) culture – a time and space where people can not only feel comfortable being who they are, but also feel celebrated.

Pride events allow LGBTQ people and their allies, friends, and families to connect with other supportive and diverse members of the local community, be “out” safely, and find opportunities to become more involved with the future of the equality movement in North Dakota. Dakota OutRight, a volunteer nonprofit serving central and western North Dakota, is proud to present Capital Pride 2014. Running August 1-3, Capital Pride offers three days of activities meant to bring people together to spend time with their families, to engage with other Midwestern LGBTQ folk, and of course, to celebrate!

We know that sometimes it feels as though the world is against us and makes us wonder if things will ever change here. But we can’t forget that LGBTQ people have each other, and only together can we make life more equitable for everyone in our communities, our state, and our nation. We have made small strides that are encouraging. The tide of equality is rising and our state will have its time.

This Pride Guide contains our schedule, sponsors, and much more information about how to attend Capital Pride 2014.

Pride runs all year in our hearts, but let’s be intentionally out, and intentionally proud, this August 1-3!
