Production of chemical fibre with wet spinneretIm a trainee at Enka Tecnica GmbH. We produce spinneret, wet spinneret, spinneret with profile hole, spinneret with round hole and micro components. These are important products for chemical fibre manufacturing, the dialysis process and the clothing industry. We are at the beginning of the production process of chemical fibres for t-shirts and trousers. The production of spinneret has a long history. We had our 100th birthday in 2012. The innovator was Friedrich Eilfeld. He was from Grbzig. He first made spinneret of glass. The metal spinneret was invented later (1909). In 2003 Enka Tecnica GmbH became the new owner from Wetzel GmbH. Christian Friedrich Eilfeld 1868 - 1942 4. Poland 2.1 General facts form of government: Republic area: 312.678 skm (9th biggest area in Europe) inhabitants: 38,1 million independence: 1918 capital city: Warszawa (1.7 million inhabitants) car code: PL internet-TLD .pl prefix number: +48 language: Polish currency: 1 EUR 3,2 Z (1 Z = 100 Groszy) 6. 2.2 Residential care home for the elderly Gniazdo The residential care home for the elderly is called Gniazdo. It has a churchly background. The owner of the home and the building is churchly, too. He has visited the Pope. With help from German friends and help from God, I built this house!, so he told us.They have a very small dining room, because they havent a lot of residents. The oldest woman was 100 years old. 7. The residents have a chapel. There they can pray for somebody or pray for God. This room is small, too. They have a divine service every Sunday and every religious festival because the owner of the house is a high priest. The room is wonderfully decorated and the windows have special colours. Green means spring / new beginning, red/brown means autumn / finishing and blue means winter / silence. In the cellar was a REHA centrum for the residents. They could do sports and gymnastic exercises. 8. The first day was very funny and awesome. We finished this day in the afternoon with general facts about Poland and we practiced our business English. In the evening we went to a restaurant. It was very delicious. 9. 2.3 School for economy and technic Warsaw On the second day we went to a vocational school in Warsaw. The school was very old but clean and nice. The students were very open-minded. The school was smaller then ours. The teacher was very friendly and helpful. We saw the library, the gym and a room with some exercise machines. 10. They have some German lessons and chemistry. The teacher and students were very delighted about our presentation. We learned something about the school system in Poland. For example mark 5 is the best and 1 the worst, in Germany it is the other way round. In Poland they have first class, second class and third class in the vocational schools. In Germany we have this class in the primary school. We have a dual system with school and work and they have only school with 2 or 4 weeks practical work. The school systems are very different. 11. This day finished with project work and in the evening we went to another restaurant. Here are some pictures where you can see the group. 12. 2.4 School for technic and computer science The third day was very interesting, because this school was younger and more modern than the other. We learnd something about the projects at the school, the school system and about the students who are learning there. We saw a lot of class rooms, the gym and the canteen. The theme of this school is technic and computer science. 13. This school was special, because students with physical handicap can learn there. They have lifts for wheelchairs and wide doors and a corridor. They have also a room with old computers and computer service quantities. Is a computer broken or defect, they can learn to upgrade and repair them. They collect old computers or computer service quantities from companies. 14. 2.5 Marflex M.J. Mallis We visited this company on Friday. This company has 27 subsidiaries and 13 production facilities. They produce stretch film, PET straps and PP straps. Stretch films are only for hand application and machine film. Strapping is used to secure bundles of products typically used for shipping and storage. 15. In the production hall it was very hot and loud and the air was very dry. But the boss and the department chiefs were very friendly and openminded to us. 16. 2.6 German Polish Chamber of Foreign TradeOn the fifth day we went in the afternoon to the Chamber of Foreign Trade Germany Poland. Mr. Kern told us something about the tasks and a lot of the different departments in the Chamber of Foreign Trade. He showed us some schemes of Poland and Germany. The assistant of the section Tourism gave us some information about the differences between the tourism sector in Poland and Germany and the importance of tourism in Poland. 17. On Saturday we reached Rijeka in the afternoon. Here are some pictures of the flight and the group. 18. 3. Croatia capital city: Zagreb form of government: parliamentary republic language: Croatian area: 56.542 skm inhabitants: 4.3 million independence day: 25.June 1991 car code: HR Internet-TLD: .hr prefix number: +385 currency: Croatian Kuna (HRK), 1EUR = 4,7kn 19. 3.2 Rallye in the city On Sunday we made a rallye in Rijeka. Our task was it to find some sights and information about them. Everybody had to give information about one sight. We went to the tourist information and they gave us a map of Rijeka and then we started. For example, I had the Church of Sankt Georgius. When we had finished this task, we guided Ms Kaufhold to the sights and told her some information about it in English. 20. Here are some pictures of the sightseeing tour! City tower Church of St. Vito Rijeka Synagogue 21. 3.3 Viktor Lenac Shipyard On Monday, 24th June 2013 there was my favourite appointment. In the morning we started to Victor Lenac Shipyard. The area of the shipyard was very big. The main building was old and the workshops, too. In the meeting room we met the boss of the construction part. He told us some information about the ships in the shipyard and the company, too.The shipyard has three drydocks, 8 shore cranes, 1 crawler crane, a plasma cutting machine and the offshore construction area. 22. After the presentation and the tour we said thank you and went back to the hotel. Here you can see some pictures of our tour through the shipyard. 23. In the afternoon we had project work. We practiced our business English and learned to talk with business partners. After that we went to the Trsat Castle were we had a fantastic view over Rijeka. 24. 3.4 Project work On Tuesday we didnt have any appointment because there was a bank holiday in Croatia, so we worked on our presentations and practiced our English. We learned something about how to behave in an appointment and something about the landscape, the people and the economy of Croatia. In our free time in the afternoon we went to the beach. 25. 3.5 Residential care home for the elderly VitaNova This trip was my favorite one, too. In the meeting room we learned something about the buliding. They have 3 sections: A, B, C. In section A live residents who need help all day long and residents with Alzheimer. In section B live residents who need help 2 to 3 hours a day, and in section C live residents who dont need help because they live alone or in a flat with their partner. 26. This home for the elderly was wonderful and colourful everywhere. The activities and the festivals they celebrate are very lovely and nice. Every birthday child gets a birthday cake and a party, they celebrate international womens day and carnival and so on. I was so voiceless because I felt like home and not in a home for the elderly. I cannot put into words how I felt in this home because im sad when I think of my parents when they are old and I was happy to see how the residents live here. But its a privat and expensive home with a high standard. A lot of other homes for the elderly in Croatia are different from Vitanova. 27. 3.6 Croatian Chamber of EconomyOur last appointment was at the Croatian Chamber of Economy. The headoffice of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce is in Zagreb. Mrs. Filipovi welcomed us and then we went to the meeting room. There she told us something about the Croatian Chamber of Economy, sections of the chamber and some tasks, too. Also she told us a lot about the EEN (Enterprise Europe Network) and answered all questions. 28. The material with a lot of information was very helpful. We talked about the EEN and the service for SMEs, for example contacts to business partners and customers or information about how to find the best location for your business in Europe. Mrs. Filipovi was very friendly and upfront to us. 29. After every appointment one of our group gave a present. Here you can see the pictures. 30. On Friday we went back to Germany. This two weeks were very interesting because of the different ways of life in Poland and Croatia. The experiences in the companies in other countries were helpful and we had some busy days. I would like to thank Ms. Kaufhold for the organisation and my training company who gave me the chance to take part. 31. Here you can see some pictures from our journey back home. 32.
