Balkans Mining Road Show 3 rd 6 th October 2016 The countries of South East Europe (Serbia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Romania) enjoy rich mineral assets including gold, copper, lead/zinc and lithium, with dozens of planned and active investment projects totalling £1.3bn, owned by both local and international companies. On the other hand, the UK possesses key strengths across the mining supply chain; the UK is the leading global source of mining finance; it possesses a broad range of professional services (finance/legal/advisory/CSR); engineering and consulting organisations; social and environmental consultancies; innovative equipment suppliers; education and training providers. Exactly what the region needs to develop further its mineral assets. The Balkans Mining Road Show, which includes participation in the 6th International Conference on Mineral Resources in Belgrade, will provide a great opportunity to demonstrate the capability of the UK mining supply chain, and to engage with projects and decision makers in the Balkans region on tangible business opportunities. Provisional Programme Monday 3rd October Arrive Belgrade. Welcome/briefing with UKTI Belgrade Tuesday 4th October 6th International Conference on Mineral Resources (with breakout/business networking opportunities to allow UK delegates to meet with relevant Serbian/Western Balkans delegates). Evening Residence reception Weds 5th October Additional Belgrade programme. Transfer to Sofia by luxury mini-coach. Welcome/briefing with UKTI Sofia. Evening Residence reception Thursday 6th October Sofia programme, including meetings with Ministry of Energy, Bulgarian Chamber of Mining, key local mining operators, University of Mining and Geology. Depart Sofia. Friday 7th October (Optional/depending on interest) Site visit to Dundee Precious Metals and/or Asarel Medet Approximate Costs Delegate will be responsible for covering their own costs for flights from/to the UK and three nights’ accommodation, estimated at £500-£600 in total. In addition, there will be an OMIS charge of £200 per company to cover administration costs. UKTI will provide a rich programme, local transport, (including transfer Belgrade-Sofia), and invitations to networking receptions at the Ambassadors’ Residences in Belgrade and Sofia.
