Happiness all aroundNovember 10 2017, was Happiness Day at Arabian Ranches and the turnout and response was proof that residents were all smiles and happy to get together for such a community event. The event featured music, comical clowns, slender stilt walkers, traditional dancers, quirky face painters, family entertainment, an arts & crafts corner, face painting, sand art, bouncy castles, and a rodeo bull. In addition to this, food stalls were busy dishing out delicious snacks, making it a day to remember for the residents of Arabian Ranches.

Halloween at the Arabian Ranches IIThe much-awaited Halloween event came alive at the Arabian Ranches II Football Ground on Saturday, 28 October 2017 with creepy crawlies, scary monsters, minions, cartoon characters and many other frightening creatures. The venue almost resembled a scene out of a horror flick ready to scare the little Halloween enthusiasts headed its way. As the sun began to set, the cackles and giggle grew in numbers and the driving range wore a busy, festive look. Kids also had a field day with a busy arts and craft corner, haunted house, skilled games stalls, spooky cemetery and photo booth, while food stations served snacks and beverages to all those who attended. The climax of the evening was the Costume Contest, in which more than 50 shortlisted children & adults participated for a chance to win prizes for the Scariest, Most Creative Costumes and Best Dressed Adult.

II03 Community Awareness – Speeding Campaign

In our endeavor to raise awareness on road safety among our residents and to promote a safe environment, a community awareness campaign focused on road and pedestrian safety was conducted. The campaign started from 10 November 2017 with the aim to build a safer community by:

• ensuring road safety signs are followed• adhering to community speed limits of 25km/hr by driving safe and slow• keeping an eye out for pedestrians

Campaign flyers were distributed to all residents in the community and posters were placed at community gatehouses. Community and security staff also raised awareness by reminding residents and contractors of these guidelines in the community.

Evicting stubborn pests from your property

Make sure they can’t come backOnce you’ve eliminated these breeding sites, it’s just as important that you employ preventive measures to avoid future infestations.

• Keep water storage units covered• Ensure that you completely drain vases and saucers before replenishing water• Fit containers with lids before disposing of them in refuse collection bins• Change water in pets’ water bowls and birdbaths regularly • Stock ponds with fish that eat insect larvae• Carry out periodic pest control treatment to prevent outbreaks in the future

Don’t give them what they want!Mosquitoes, midges and other insect larvae love stagnant water bodies – take away this haven and you’ve effectively stopped them multiplying. Water can pool and stagnate at a number of locations around your property so it’s important that you regularly check for potential breeding sites. Common sources of infestation include:

While pest control measures are regularly coordinated by our management team to combat the seasonal menace, taking a few simple steps as active residents of the community can help curb breeding.

Don't ‘drive’ your neighbours awayCommunity living at Emirates Living calls for a certain code of conduct that all members are expected to follow – this ensures the highest standard of living for all residents.

With this in mind, we urge you not to ignore these values when it comes to parking your vehicles.

• Do not park trailers, trucks, boats or other obstructive vehicles on the community roads – park your vehicles only within the allocated premises on your property.

• Parking on pavements, gardens or lawn areas damages landscaping and is strictly prohibited.

• Vehicles dripping fluids must be removed from the community and any damage to the roads will be repaired at the owner’s expense.

• When parking multiple vehicles, ensure that none of the vehicles encroach the pavement or community road.

• Avoid sounding your horn or revving the engine in the community as this can disturb neighbouring residents.

• Keep your parking premises clean and free of litter, this contributes to the community’s overall aesthetics.
