Analyzing AdsLane Gibbons

Power- This advertisement is offering more possibilities, more power. It is using the brick become a skyscraper as an example.Values Association- This ad could be appealing to people with accomplishment as a value. Us people see a brick, but this company sees a skyscraper.

This ad is very plain. Very simple. There is only one word that stands out, which immediately catches your attention and makes you take a second glance.

Love- This ad is giving the impression that this non-athletic or normal boy, is being attacked (in a good way) by a mob of chocks (chick jocks). And that it is the product that caused it.Values Association- This ad is probably trying to appeal to people with “image” or “fame” as a value. These chocks would normally be going after jocks but now they are going after him, which could give him the appearance of a jock or someone more popular than who he already is.

This ad definitely has some humor in it which is another great hook for the viewer. A bunch of girls dog-piling a guy? Come on. It’s pretty entertaining.

Freedom- This man on the motorcycle is obviously free from anything other than himself and the open rode. Notice they show the ground, the mountains and the sky. Showing there is absolutely nothing besides the driver.Values Association- This ad probably appeals to people with the values of freedom and power. There is absolutely nothing stopping the driver from doing what they want. They are in control of where they are going.

Breathing is automatic. Living takes some effort. This is in a very large font and catches the viewers attention right away. This means that living (or having freedom) or riding a motorcycle takes a little bit of effort. Also the Harley Davidson logo is very clearly seen.

Fun- This man is obviously not a kid in fact he looks like a business man, but what he’s doing is very childish. But he doesn’t care, he’s having fun. Diet Pepsi is commonly associated with adults, that is who it’s made for anyway. But this man doesn’t worry who it’s made for, he’s a child at heart. “Forever Young”.Values Association- This ad is appealing to business people or adults. Maybe adults who have “action” or the “freedom” to have fun as values. Adults who get bored with their adult life and just want to be a kid and drink Pepsi again. But they’re still adults, and don’t want all the sugar that comes with regular Pepsi. Thus, Diet Pepsi. This whole ad is centered around the Diet Pepsi, literally. So your attention immediately goes there. Also, did you notice the water droplets on the glass? This gives Pepsi the appearance of fresh and cool. Forever Young at the bottom of the ad is very small and there are only two words, which automatically attracts the viewer to read it. Nobody wants to waste time reading a whole 3 paragraphs.
