SELECTING CLASSES - PLACEMENT CRITERIA

Please, Please - “Schedule yourself for success”!

Placement criteria:– Tests : STAR Testing– Teacher recommendations– First semester grades– Second semester grades– Summer school

HONORS/AP – WHAT TO DO?

You should be reading at the 90+ percentile Make sure you can handle the honors/AP

coursework– Make sure you can handle the number of those

courses you select “Schedule for success” – know yourself,

know your limits Be careful of “overload” in the junior year! Keep things in balance!

English - 40 credits Math - 30 credits Science - 35 credits

(includes HSF/Health) P.E. - 20 credits U.S. History - 10

credits Gov/Econ - 10 credits World History - 10

Fine Arts/For Lang - 10 credits

Electives - 65 credits Total = 230

ADDITIONAL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:

CAHSEE – MUST pass to earn diploma! Additionally, competency must be

demonstrated in computer skills Students must at least pass Algebra I Students must complete Career Shadowing
