Creating an Account in Naviance

1. DGS Website homepage: http://south.csd99.org/2. Click on “Students”- located on the left side of the

homepage under the picture of DGS graduates3. Click on “Naviance” which is the fourth option under

“Students”4. Now click on “I need to register” in the beige box on

the right

Enter your DGS ID# here...then click register.

Completing your registration in Naviance

Enter your school email twice here

Your password is your DGS ID#

Click the accept box and then click “complete registration”

This is the home page of Naviance. Take a few minutes to see what this site has to offer.

Accessing Your 4 Year Plan Document

● Minimize Naviance- if there is time, you can continue exploring this site after our lesson.

● Go to classroom.google.com● Click on the “+” next to your email address in the upper

right corner● Click on “Join Class” and enter this code: bsqy82y ● Enter the Freshman CSSS Class of 2020 classroom

Type in your name, ID number, and today’s date. Then put a “Y” next to your counselor’s name and educational goal.

How to fill out your four year plan

Place a “Y” next to your educational goal

Place a “Y” next to your counselor’s name

Follow the directions to fill out the “Career Goals” section

Use your scheduled classes for Semester I and II this year to fill out the Credit Chart for Freshman Year

● Put a “Y” next to the classes you are taking now and are scheduled for next semester.

● Type in the Electives you are taking (like Spanish I, SAS, etc.)

● Add up your credits. PLEASE NOTE***If you get an “F” in any of these classes for the semester, you get ZERO credits!

Take a minute to look at your Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Plan to see what options you have in the future.

The next page of the document will show you how to calculate your GPA

Grade Point average is one of the most important factors a college considers when accepting students.

Follow the directions on the document to calculate your Grade Point Average

Be sure to note:● Most teachers use the grade scale provided on the

chart at the bottom, but some may not.

● This is your GPA right now, but you have the rest of the semester to improve it or blow it- That’s up to you!
