successful over the years due to the unique qualities of the member airline

representatives, who have formed a

strong working group drawing syner-gies from their diverse skills and cultur-

al backgrounds.

The team attended the 2014 IATA

Fuel Forum in Dubai and had the opportunity to meet both existing

Boeing and SAA look to first harvest of energy-rich tobacco to make sus-

tainable aviation biofuel

B oeing and South African Airways (SAA) announced

that South African farmers

will soon harvest their first crop of energy-rich tobacco plants, an

important step towards using the

plants to make sustainable aviation biofuel.

J. Miguel Santos, Managing Director for Africa, Boeing International said

“Boeing strongly believes that our

aviation biofuel collaboration with

South African Airways will benefit the

environment and public health while providing new economic opportunities

for South Africa’s small farmers. This

project also positions our valued airline customer to gain a long-term, viable

domestic fuel supply and improve

MTU Aero Engines presents

business outlook for the next

decade

A t the 2014 Investor & Analyst Day, MTU Aero Engines AG

presented its business outlook

for the next decade to 2024. The group aims to remain on its growth

trajectory while at the same time continu-

ing to improve its profitability. It plans to increase its adjusted EBIT margin and its

free cash flow in the medium to long term.

This goal is based on the expected devel-opment of revenues in its operating seg-

ments. As of 2018, MTU expects to see

substantial growth in revenues from its most profitable activities, namely spare

parts sales and maintenance. From this

point onward, revenues from the less profitable series production business are

likely to increase only slightly, and the

military engine business will probably decline. For more information, kindly visit
