BackPacks of Hope-Greenfield This program provides backpacks with supplies to those who are homeless in Greenfield and Hancock County. The supplies include a blanket, first aid and hygiene supplies, and a hat and gloves. Also added are puzzles, books and, for children's backpacks, a small toy. In the
first year over 100 backpacks were distributed. St. Michael Parish was a generous supporter of this program last year and we are participating again this year. Items can be dropped into collection baskets at the Church entrances the weekends of Oct. 17-18, 24-25, 31 and Nov. 1 and then Nov. 7 & 8. Currently, basic backpacks are especially needed. Our parish senior ministry has volunteered to help pack the BackPacks of Hope. Collections begin next weekend. Thank you.
Do you need to clean out your
closets, garages, or attic? Do you just have too much stuff and no time to have your own gar-age sale? How about getting rid of your excess and helping a good cause? St. Michael’s 8th Grade Class of 2016 is having a garage sale to raise money for their trip to Washington D.C. The sale will be Friday, Oct. 23 from 2-4 P.M. for School and Church families and Saturday, Oct. 24 from 8-4 P.M. for the general public. All items are free will donations. Bring your donations on Oct 23 2-4 P.M. or call Peg Carrico 462-7101 to arrange a drop off time. All donated items left after the sale will be donated to Goodwill or Love, Inc. Please write the date on your calendar to shop the sale and share the date with your friends. Thank you for your support!
No Scrip gift card sales this weekend, Oct 10-11,
due to fall break. Normal schedule returns Oct 17-18. Remember to order your gift cards early for the holidays, groceries, gas and gifts. Proceeds benefit the school PSO, the church and family tuition /SMRE fees.
