Michaelmas

Our fall initiative related to fundraising for 2016 will be a raffle timed with the

St. Michael Feast Day Celebration, Michaelmas! The plan is to combine our parish picnic of

late August, and our “We Give Thanks” Dinner Auction of November into one big celebration

on the Feast of St. Michael, Thursday, September 29, 2016, Michaelmas! The specific

activities of the celebration will be outlined later, however Mass, dinner courtesy of the St. Michael Women’s Club, and even a rock band are all a part of the plans, along with a raffle and a few silent auction items. We have a hopeful goal of

raising $25,000 minus a $10,000 raffle prize. Less work, more fun!

The raffle tickets will be $50 each and only 500 tickets will be sold.

There will be a guaranteed single prize of $10,000 to one winner. That is a

1 one in 500 chance to win the $10,000! There will be no charge to attend the St. Michael

Feast Day Celebration, Michaelmas, and you do not have to purchase a raffle ticket to

attend. The plan is for this celebration, and raffle, to become an annual event. We will begin selling raffle tickets mid-June through the night of the drawing on September 29th unless we sell all 500 tickets before then. The drawing will be at 8 P.M. in the Father Severin Life Center.

This is our way of putting the “FUN” back in fundraising. Gaming laws do not allow us to mail raffle tickets for purchase. Once purchased, however, we can mail your raffle ticket to you. In mid-June, you will find envelopes at the entrance to the church and in the pews. On the outside of the envelope there is a place for your contact information. You can place your check or cash for the number of tickets you wish to purchase in the envelope and drop it in the pink envelope locked box at the entrance to the church. You can also purchase tickets Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., in the Parish Office. Plus, members of the church leadership team will have numbered tickets to sell. Finally, you can mail us your check and include your name, address and telephone number, and we can mail your numbered

ticket to you. Mark your calendar for a grand celebration...Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016,

Michaelmas, and a chance to win $10,000!

CYO SPORTS

ATTENTION PARENTS AND GUARDIANS: Starting with the 2016-2017 school year, you will need to

register your child for CYO sports directly on the CYO website at www.cyoarchindy.org. The child must be registered before the deadline given for each sport. If the child is not registered by the deadline, he or she will not be able to play on the CYO team for that sport. The deadlines are listed below. Each sport has a minimum number of participants to field a team in a given age group. Each sport also requires one or more volunteer adult coaches, in order to field a team. If we do not have enough coaches, we may not be able to have teams for every eligible grade level. To register on the CYO website, go to www.cyoarchindy.org , then Athletics, and then Participants Registration. Answer the questions, and then register your child for one or more sports. You can sign up for as many sports as you want at one time, as long as it is before the deadline. See the deadlines below for each sport:

Please call me at 317-891-1764 or e-mail me at [email protected] if you have any questions, or if you would like to volunteer to coach a team.

Thank you,
