Minister for Higher Edu- cation, Muhammad Akbar Lone, inaugurated the camp which was held in collabo- ration with Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir and JLNM Hospital. Yawar Masoodi, organiser YNC and its other members were pres- ent on the occasion. On the occasion, Lone felicitated the participants who donated their blood. He also directed the authorities to complete the work of sub- district hospital within this month. Dr Shahid Rasool bereaved Srinagar, Dec 5: Ghulam Rasool Bhat of Udipora Langate, Handwara pres- ently residing at Fazl Haque colony Batapora Hazratbal (Professor Lane) passed away Thursday afternoon after a brief illness. He was the father of Dr. Shahid Rasool, Director EMMRC, and former head Media Education Research Centre, University of Kash- mir. Bhat was a scholar of Persian and widely known for his contribution in the field of education. Colleagues from university, eminent per- sonalities from SKIMS and other associated hospitals attended his Namaz-e-Jana- za. Family sources said the mourning will be observed for only three days. His death has been widely condoled by people from all walks of life. Academic frater- nity from Kashmir University has expressed grief over the demise. Meanwhile, the Kash- mir University Teachers Asso- ciation has expressed their con- dolence. The KUTA has prayed for peace for the departed soul. `We stand by our colleague and friend Dr. Shahid Rasool in this hour of grief', the KUTA spokes- man said. ousands attend Sheikh Toha’s funeral Infant charred to death in Ganderbal JKLF pays tributes to HN Wanchoo SHEIKH NAZIR Ganderbal, Dec 5: An infant was charred to death at Kurhama in Lar tehsil here on Thursday. Police said the infant Rabia Mushtaq daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad Ganai of Kurhama was charred to death in a fire incident. “The infant was alone in the house when fire erupted due to short circuit,” reports said. Police has taken the cognizance of the case and taken up investigation. Srinagar, Dec 5: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has expressed soli- darity with the family of noted human rights activist, Harday Nath Wanchoo and paid rich tribute to him on his death anniversary. A delegation of JKLF comprising of leaders, advo- cate Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Er Ghulam Rasool Dar Eidi, Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi , M.Sadiq and Ashraf bin Salam visited the residence of Harday Nath Wanchoo and expressed solidarity with his son Kumar Ji Wanchoo. Doctors appeal PSC Srinagar, Dec 5: The doctors from Kashmir short-listed for interview for the post of medical officers in Health and Medical Education depart- ment have appealed the Public Service Commission to hold their inter- view in Srinagar. “Our interview should be held in Srinagar only as it brings lot of hardships for us to visit Jammu for interviews,” a delega- tion of candidates said. Kargil in mourning Kargil, Dec 5: Thousands of people participated in the Namaz-e-Janaza of promi- nent religious scholar and general secretary Anjuman- e-Jamiyat Ullama Asna Ashriya Kargil (the Islamic Society of Kargil), Sheikh Muhammad Hussain Toha, who passed away on Wednes- day evening. Kargil observed a com- plete shutdown on Thursday to mourn Toha’s demise. Toha’s body was carried in a procession from Islamia School Kargil to his ancestral village Baroo. His Namaz- e-Janaza. was led by the Chairman IKMT Kargil, Sheikh Muhammad Hussain Lutfi. Srinagar, Dec 5: Jammu and Kashmir Youth Nation-al Conference (YNC) today organized a blood donation camp at sub-district hospital Pampore to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sheikh Muhammad Abdul-lah. Minister for Higher Edu-cation, Muhammad Akbar Lone, inaugurated the camp which was held in collabo-ration with Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir and JLNM Hospital. Yawar Masoodi, organiser YNC and its other members were pres-ent on the occasion. On the occasion, Lone felicitated the participants who donated their blood. He

also directed the authorities to complete the work of sub-district hospital within this month. Addressing the gather-ing, Masoodi said the blood donation was the best way to pay tributes to late Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah. “On this day, the YNC reaffirms its commitment to the aspirations of the people of the state, in particular the youth who have given exem-plary sacrifice to uphold the principles of late Abdullah,” Masoodi said. Among others present on the occasion were Chief Medi-cal Officer, Pulwama Dr Hus-sain, Block Medical Officer, Pampore Dr.Mukhtar, and DHS, Kashmir Dr.Jehangir Bakshi respectively.

Srinagar, Dec 5: Ghulam Rasool Bhat of Udipora Langate, Handwara pres-ently residing at Fazl Haque colony Batapora Hazratbal (Professor Lane) passed away Thursday afternoon after a brief illness. He was the father of Dr. Shahid Rasool, Director EMMRC, and former head Media Education Research Centre, University of Kash-mir. Bhat was a scholar of Persian and widely known for his contribution in the field of education. Colleagues from university, eminent per-sonalities from SKIMS and other associated hospitals attended his Namaz-e-Jana-za. Family sources said the mourning will be observed for only three days. His death has been widely condoled by people from all walks of life. Academic frater-nity from Kashmir University has expressed grief over the demise. Meanwhile, the Kash-mir University Teachers Asso-ciation has expressed their con-dolence. The KUTA has prayed for peace for the departed soul. `We stand by our colleague and friend Dr. Shahid Rasool in this hour of grief', the KUTA spokes-man said.

Ahmad Ganai of Kurhama was charred to death in a fire incident. “The infant was alone in the house when fire erupted due to short circuit,” reports said. Police has taken the cognizance of the case and taken up investigation.

Kargil in mourning Kargil, Dec 5: Thousands of people participated in the Namaz-e-Janaza of promi-nent religious scholar and general secretary Anjuman-e-Jamiyat Ullama Asna Ashriya Kargil (the Islamic Society of Kargil), Sheikh Muhammad Hussain Toha, who passed away on Wednes-day evening. Kargil observed a com-plete shutdown on Thursday to mourn Toha’s demise. Toha’s body was carried in a procession from Islamia School Kargil to his ancestral village Baroo.

His Namaz- e-Janaza. was led by the Chairman IKMT Kargil, Sheikh Muhammad Hussain Lutfi. Among others, Vice Pres-ident Anjuman-e-Jamiayt Ullama Asna Ashriya Kargil, Aga Syed Jamal, members of Ulema Council Kargil ISK, acting CEC Kargil Advocate Muhammad Amir, Executive Councilor Sheikh Muham-mad Hussain Raizi, MLC Kargil Aga Syed Ahmad Razvi, besides former execu-tive councilors, councilors and district officers were present on the occasion.
