  • WHAT: Opening Reception for Skip Hills Under The Mango TreeWHERE: MAINSITE Contemporary Art, 122 E. Main

    WHEN: 6 to 10 p.m.ABOUT: MAINSITE Contemporary Art: Home of the Norman Arts Council is proud to present the opening of Skip Hills Under The Mango Tree (left

    page), featuring the newest works from the Oklahoma favorite inspired by a recent stay in Brazil, boasting the same bold color and energy of his previous

    beloved pieces. Work by printmaker, OU MFA student and Norman Arts Council Individual Artist Award winner Jessi Wilson (left) will be displayed in the

    Library Gallery, while Dismember, a collection of digital collages by Norman graphic designer Joshua Boydston (right) can be seen in the Water Closet

    Gallery. Mariposa Coffee Company will be serving up cold-brewed cocktails, and Perpetual Motion dancers will perform contemporary, improvisational dance at

    8 p.m., and Cafe Do Brasil will also be serving up some free hors doeurves.

  • WHAT: Public Arts Board Bike Rack ReceptionWHERE: MAINSITE Contemporary Art, 122 E. Main

    WHEN: 6:30 p.m. ABOUT: The Norman Public Arts Board presents a special reception at MAINSITE

    honoring the artists behind the newly-installed downtown Norman bike racks will take place at 6:30 p.m. with artwalkers encouraged to go view the racks in person afterward.

  • WHAT: Dreamer 49: Visual ConcertosWHERE: Dreamer Concepts: An Art Space for Emerging Artists, 324 E. Main

    WHEN: 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.ABOUT: Dreamer Concepts closes out Dreamer 49: Visual Concertos. This exhibit featuring work by Alan M. Addison is designed to please the eye and entertain the

    mind by using music and color tonality blended together and exploring their frequencies. Dreamer will also host the Gondwana Imports: Fair Trade Store featuring handmade items

    that go one to support charities across the globe.

  • WHAT: Closing Reception for Dian Church WHERE: The Performing Arts Studio, 200 S. Jones

    WHEN: 6 to 9 p.m.ABOUT: The Performing Arts Studio exhibits new work by Dian Church, an Oklahoma native and working artist with over 30 years experience making unique clay-on-board,

    watercolor and acrylic pieces. Accordionist Bob Mansfield will also be providing live music through the night.

  • WHAT: Childrens Summer Art Program ShowWHERE: Firehouse Art Center, 444 S. Flood

    WHEN: 6 to 9 p.m.ABOUT: Firehouse Art Center will feature student artwork from the Childrens Summer Art Program. Each student who took a class at FAC this summer will have a piece in the exhibit,

    and artwork comes from a variety of mediums, including painting, drawing, collage, sculpture and more.

    WHEN: 6 to 10 p.m.ABOUT: The Social Club showcases Oklahoma artist Natalie Yandell, who

    creates simple designs with fluid acrylic and watercolor techniques.

  • WHAT: Featured Art of Millimeter MonkeyWHERE: STASH, 412 E. Main

    WHEN: 6 to 10 p.m.ABOUT: STASH features work from Millimeter Monkey, specializing in

    photography, wood working and desert horticulture. Big Truck Tacos will also be on hand.

    painter and mixed media artist whose latest batch of work is painting old clothing mannequins with bright and bold colors. Frank Lawrence and Peter Erickson will

    also performing through the evening.

    providing free arts and crafts, yummy treats and face painting from Groovefest.
