There are many challenges associated with disaster recovery on a physical infrastructure.
Require identical hardware for recovery Double costs, increases complexity
Accurate configuration information is critical
Idle hardware Need standby hardware for faster recovery
time objective Repurposing servers at time of disaster is
labor-intensive and time-consuming
Slow, complex recovery process Different solutions for different availability tiers Separate procedures for system and data disks Separate procedures for desktop PCs Multi-step recovery processes

IBM SmartCloud Virtualized Server Recovery provides faster recovery, increased reliability of server recovery, while minimizing data loss.
Client benefits:• Minimizes data loss with shorter RPO• Increases recovery reliability, as virtualization eliminates risk of failure to recover on unlike
hardware• Manage recovery operations remotely and avoid need for travel to recovery site• Almost eliminates your business down time with near zero RTO• You may more easily and frequently test the failover and recovery• Virtual machines for server failover available on the fly for you• Predictable costs with our subscription per server per month pricing model
Our service can help you:
Achieve shorter, near zero,Recovery Time Objectivei.e. RTO and RecoveryPoint Objective i.e. RPO
Reduce the risk of failure to recover on un-like hardware at recovery center
Avoid the need for travel byusing remote access self-management tools

Our service does the heavy lifting for you and is offered on a subscription basis.
Fully managed cloud service, to bring alive in minutes your servers with their systems, applications and associated data in our recovery center, to run your business applications
Server recovery is offered via subscription on a “per-server” basis, providing you with more predictable costs
Three distinct service elements to serve your needs fully:– ‘Always available virtual machine’ to recover mission-critical servers– Cost-effective ‘disaster and test virtual machine’ to recover non-mission-critical servers– ‘Imported media virtual machine’ to migrate your traditional recovery approaches to
cloud recovery
‘Always available virtual machine’ service element may be used by you for backup, archive and test, besides recovery
Supports ‘cross-server consistency’ to ensure your applications run seamlessly when your servers failover to our cloud recovery infrastructure
