What an exciting time it is in the life of Chanute UMC. There is a large group planning on em- barking on an adventure next Sept and with that brings many fundraisers/ fellowships. I wanted to bring to light many of the opportunities we have ahead of us to engage into fellowship over the next few months. The first will be this Saturday at Artist Ally. The Church will have a booth set up in front of Talk of the Town. Mums will be available for purchase along with information will be shared about the Community Israel Trip and the possibility of a bronze statue/memorial of Jesus and Children to possibly be erected near the middle school. Then in October we will be selling lightly used jackets as a fundraiser for Israel. We will be selling the jackets/coats at $5 or less on a few weekends in October. October 24 starting at 5:30 out at the McMillen’s pond there will be an opportunity of fellowship. We will be having a harvest party with hayrack rides, pumpkin carving, hot cider, hot dog roast, s’mores, fishing, camp- fire singing and lots of laughter. Mark your calendars now for this. Lastly, New Years Eve from 9pm-2am there will be a dance at the Venue titled ‘Time Warp’. This will be a formal dance, there will be a DJ, Live music and karaoke and lots of fellowship. Starting the first week of October tickets will go on sale for this Israel Fund rais- er. As the Body of Christ we are called to grow together and one way to do this is to fellowship together. Pray Like You Mean It!Pray Like You Mean It!Pray Like You Mean It!Pray Like You Mean It!

Dear Lord, Help me to relax about insignificant details, begin-ning tomorrow at 7:41:23 a.m. EST. Help me to consider peo-ple's feelings, even if most of them are hypersensitive. Help me to take responsi-bility for the consequences of my actions, even though they're usually not my fault. Help me to be more laid back, and help me to do it exactly right. Help me to take things more seriously, especially laughter, parties, and dancing. Give me patience, and I mean right now! Help me not be a perfec-tionist. (Did I spell that correctly?) Help me to finish every-thing I sta Help me to keep my mind on one thing ... oh, look, a bird ... at a time. Help me to do only what I can, and trust you for the rest. And would you mind putting that in writing? And Keep me open to others' ideas, misguided though they may be.

Thank you, Lord. Amen

Have a Have a Have a Have a WONDERFUL Day!WONDERFUL Day!WONDERFUL Day!WONDERFUL Day!

Psalms 34:1 I will bless

the LORD at all times:

his praise shall continu-

ally be in my mouth.

There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and saw that she had only three hairs on her head. "Great," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today." So she did, and had a wonderful day. The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head. "Hmm," she said, "I guess I'll part my hair down the middle." So she did, and had a wonderful day. The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only one hair left on her head. "Wow," she said, "today I get to wear my hair in a pony tail." So she did, and had a wonderful, wonderful day. The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that there wasn't a single hair on her head. "Thank God!" she exclaimed. "I was running out of things to do with my hair!" ATTITUDE is everything! Let's be grateful for the things God has given us and have a wonderful day!

The NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE will be meeting soon to choose members to serve in the various committees of the

church. If called upon to serve, please prayerfully consider where God can use

YOU in this church’s ministries.
