3 Elements for the AIM project in West Mercia

1. Integrated holistic intensive support services across the 7 reducing reoffending pathways

2. Family support services

3. Social Enterprise to employ the customer (offenders, family members & those with a previous criminal conviction)

YSS West Mercia AIM Project

Key features

• Targeting those furthest away from employment including PPO’s, Young Adults, Women and Ex military personnel

• Personalised 121 outreach support, home visits, 24 hour helpline, mentoring and access to specialist support services in-house within YSS across the 7 reducing reoffending pathways

• Direct support and interventions offered to key family members of each ex-offender  

• Co-working arrangements with a Families Intervention Project (FIP) through matched funding arrangements with the Local Authority

• Employment opportunities being developed through a YSS trading arm in catering, construction, horticulture and through a specialist YSS employment agency service

HIT Holistic Intervention & Training

Pilot 2 (Urban)

• Multi-Faceted project that includes; Peer Mentoring, Employment Mentoring, Social Enterprise development and sheltered employment. • Raising individual aspirations and equipping participants with the skills they need to compete for jobs and training opportunities. 

• At grassroots across the NOMS Pathways - Measuring the tangible impact of 3rd

party interventions on re-offending.

• Providing a “personalised conduit” into support services for the participant.

• Introducing the Employer Mentor role - a dedicated contact and clear line of information & support for employers.
