History of Wing Chun Escaped to a mountain region where she met a local woman named Yim Wing Chun. Developed by Shaolin nun called Ng Mui, after the destruction of the Shaolin Monasteries by Qing Empire.
Yim Wing Chun was being harassed by a local warlord, Ng Mui taught her this new fighting system and she was able to fend him off. The fighting system was passed on to Yim Wing Chun’s husband who in turn passed it on. Found its way to a group of Red Boat Opera performers who added a long pole weapon to the system. Used to be a closed system, only taught to a select few. Grandmaster Yip Man openly taught in 1960s. One of the most widely taught Kung Fu styles in the world.
