My Wonderfully Soothing Experience at Priel SalonBefore my visit to Priel Salon, I

had a lot going on and was reallystressed out. We were about to havevisitors stay with us for 4 days, ourhouse needed to be cleaned, I neededto go to the grocery store, and thingswere not going well in my daughter’sclass. On top of all that I had several as-signments due during the time our visi-tors were going to be in town and Icouldn’t figure out how I was going towork with someone staying in ourguest room, which also serves as my of-fice. My mind was racing with all thethings I needed to do, questions thatneeded to be asked, and tasks thatneeded to be finished, and then I en-tered Priel Salon – my worries seemedto just slip away.

Almost instantly the beautiful, calming décor of this exclusive keratasesalon and hair spa, calmed me down. The salon had a soothing nature, boasting a fresh– not chemical – smell, the seats were very comfortable, andthe beautiful crystal chandelier wasmesmerizing. But, there was still a lotof nagging thoughts going through mymind, that is, until I met with Cynthia.

At that moment, Priel’s co-ownerCynthia Abrahamsen, who runs thestore alongside her husband Erik, came

out to talk to me. Her relaxing, friendlypersonality certainly helped draw meaway from my internal stress and thenshe asked me a wonderful question.“Would you like a hair treatment and ablow out?” Well of course I would. Nomatter how busy my day, I wasn’tgoing to turn down an offer for somepampering.

“Priel Salon is a hair spa,” ex-plained Cynthia. “We analyze your hairand then customize a treatment for youto make it healthier, stronger, and fullerand to repair damage. The treatmentsare wonderful for all types of hair is-sues, including sensitive or itchy scalp, thinning, fine, dry, flat, or damagedhair, as well as color-treated or sun-damaged hair. Priel Salon also has a linespecifically for men. After one treat-ment you will see a huge difference. It’s like botox for your hair.”

During your hair treatment, Cyn-thia cleans it and gives you a wonderfulscalp massage, then your hair is treatedto a deep conditioner and a 5-minuteconditioning hair mask with a hottowel wrapped around your head. While you relax in the treatment room, which is closed off from the rest of thesalon, you are treated to an invigorat-ing hand massage. Trust me, it was

bliss! After-wards, my dry, frizzy, color-treated, sun-damaged hairlooked shinier, smoother, andmore luxurious. And, I feltcalmer, morecentered andcertainly lessstressed. It’samazing howsomething assimple as get-ting your hair done can have such aneffect on your mood and personality.

Following your treatment, you canpurchase follow up treatments to do athome (which I did). “If you followthrough with 3 rounds of follow-uptreatments, you will see long term bene-fits for your hair and scalp,” says Cynthia.“You can do the treatments at home oryou can come back to the salon.”

In addition to specializing in deepconditioning treatments for your hair,Cynthia and the other stylists at PrielSalon are experts at hair extensions,ammonia-free hair coloring, ombre col-oring, and balayage.

This holiday season don’t let stressget to you and your hair. Give PrielSalon a visit, and relax and enjoy, as youleave with beautiful, revitalized tresses.

Priel Salon is located in CitrusCourt Shopping Center at the cor-ner of Gunn Hwy and HendersonRoad at 6116 Gunn Hwy. inTampa. Are you moving? Would you like toput your house on the market, but aren’tsure where to start or who you can trust?Have you thought about selling the houseyourself, but aren’t sure how to getstarted? Do you wish you didn’t have togive so much commission to Realtors®,when you’re happy to do a majority of thework yourself, like designing and creat-ing an MLS listing and showing yourhouse? GetMoreOffers.Com is the af-fordable way to list your home, givingsellers the ultimate control over thesale, and on a site that attracts morethan 100,000 buyers per month! All ofthis while being backed by a licensedexperienced Real Estate Company anda Broker who sticks to his guns. This isthe new face of real estate.

Long ago, when the real estateworld was a different place, a Realtor®would be the only one who could findyou a listing, but with today’s technol-ogy, usually it’s the buyer that ends upfinding the home they want to live inby finding the listing themselves onlineand through websites that show MLSlistings.

Clearly, the market and the face of

real estate have changed, so doesn’t itmakes sense that the way we would goabout selling our houses would changeas well? Today, homeowners are morehands-on than they were in bygoneyears, and every penny counts. Sellingyour home by yourself can be an over-whelming experience, but handing allof the control over to a Realtor® whotakes a chunk of the percentage homeat the end of the day can make sellersfeel like they’re losing on the deal. Get-MoreOffers.Com is a safe middleground for sellers, which gives themcontrol of the process while savingthem money.

No-Nonsense, Discount Real Estatefor Everyone

ADDvantage Real Estate, as theauthorized Florida brokerage of Get-MoreOffers.Com, offers discount list-ing services all over Florida, fromJacksonville and the Panhandle, all theway down to the Keys. Co-created byBroker Keith Gordon, who has nearly30 years of experience in Florida, Get-MoreOffers.Com offers discount realestate that can be tailor-made to suiteach homeowner.

Together with Erin Knorr, CEO

of GetMoreOffers.com, whobrought the amazing software tolife, they’ve helped thousands ofpeople sell their homes safely andaffordably.

Typically, in a full-service list-ing, buyers have to sign an agree-ment that states that they willwork with one particular Realtor®for a period of time, usually sixmonths, which eliminates the pos-sibility of selling the home them-selves in that time, even if a buyershows up on their doorstep. Also,a 6% commission is generallyshared between the listing agentand the selling agent, which meansmore money out of pocket for thehomeowner.

The GetMoreOffers.Com ad-vantage is that the seller doesn’thave to pay a listing commission, which is usually a savings of around 3%of the final sale of the house. Accord-ing to www.GetMoreOffers.Com, withan ADDvantage flat fee MLS listing, ifyou are successful in finding a buyer foryour property without the assistance ofa real estate agent, then you would payNO commission; just the ADDvantageflat fee. It’s that simple.”

GetMoreOffers.com gives sellers“real time” control of the selling of theirhome, by offering sellers the opportunityto purchase an MLS listing at an afford-able flat fee, as well as creating an interac-tive portal where sellers can manage theirlisting, personalize it, add pictures and

make adjustments to price, and even de-termine the buyer’s agent’s fee.

a guarantee that it will show on yourlocal boards, will be Showcased on Re-altor.com as well as on partnered sites, including Zillow, Homes.com,Craigslist, Yahoo Real Estate, Truliaand more. The best part is that you,the seller, will control everything fromthe price of your house to when you’reavailable to show your house to inter-ested parties.

Now, if you love the idea of takingthat hands-on approach, but want thesupport and backing of a Real Estateagent for making sure that your buyersare pre-qualified, or to know when to ne-gotiate, or when not to, then you mightprefer GetMoreOffers.Com’s Profes-sional ADDvantage Program, which in-cludes everything from negotiating tothe organizing and preparing all of thelegal documentation that goes along withselling a home. This hybrid program isthe best of both worlds, and is a hugevalue to sellers. This program is only$499 upfront, and just 3/4 of 1% due atclosing (with a minimum of $1500).

Gordon says, “Sellers who go withthis program also get me, and I’m ano-nonsense discount broker. I usenon-traditional negotiating techniquesthat save sellers money.” He adds, “Ido this because I believe that buyersdon’t go away after they’ve made anoffer. If they’ve made an offer, they’ve

already committed to buying yourhouse, so I don’t always believe incountering.”

While Keith Gordon also offers fullservice real estate services through hisfull service brokerage, Principal 1 Realty,he says many sellers and even full serviceagents utilize the discount services ofGetMoreOffers.com and ADDvantageReal Estate due to the value and exten-sive coverage of MLS systems through-out the state. (Many agents get listingsoutside of their board coverage area andlook to GetMoreOffers.com to listtheir out-of-area listings rather than besubjected to the expensive fees to jointhe MLS themselves.)

Since GetMoreOffers.com is affili-ated with Frontier National Title andPatriot Lending, all of a seller’s real es-tate needs can be handled in-house,from selling a house, or being ap-proved, to buying a new one.

Jurgen Schmidt said, “As a Real-

tor/Broker at a full-service firm, whenit came time to list my out-of-stateproperty I never thought I would con-sider using a discount Brokerageagency, but… I’m so glad I did! Keithand his team at ADDvantage were awe-some, the service and support were ex-ceptional and they got results in notime! The entire experience far ex-ceeded my expectations and I wouldn’thesitate for an instant to use ADDvan-tage again or recommend them toeveryone.”

Most of her clients choose theroom in their house that offers theleast distractions, and there she createsa wonderful environment for massage. She also takes the time to really speakto her clients before their massage tolearn more about them so that she cancreate the best personalized massageexperience.

Lindsey from New Port Richeysays, “If you are looking for the bestmassage, then look no further thanKarla, she is a rare find. Once you havea massage from Karla, you will look nofurther, that I will guarantee!”

Massage Services that Improve YourLife

“Your Health is your Wealth” isthe philosophy at Barkdoll MassageTherapy, and that is why Karla takesthe time to really find out what kind ofmassage you prefer, whether it’s aSwedish massage or a deep tissue treat-ment for chronic pain, Karla’s massage

will make a difference in your life.Karla offers a wide range of af-

fordable massage therapy styles andpackages. If you are looking for a tradi-tional massage, Swedish massage treat-ments are designed to improvecirculation, reduce stress and to relievemuscle tension. This massage is verypopular all over the world because ofits light, long, and slow strokes thatrelax your cares and worries away. Ifyou are interested in trying somethinga little different, hot stone massagesuse something called warm stone ther-apy, which is the art of using heatedstones in combination with a Swedishmassage. According to Karla, the warmstones dissolve muscle tension and in-duce a deep relaxation.

Deep tissue massage is a therapeu-tic treatment designed to ease the painand discomfort associated with chronicpain. Karla says, “During deep tissuemassages I use trigger points to specifi-cally find the places where the workneeds to be done.” Deep tissue mas-sages can help people who live withpainful conditions live a fuller life.

Another style of massage thatKarla offers is sports massage and in-jury rehabilitation. This style of mas-sage combines the benefits and style ofa deep tissue massage with stretching, which can improve the range of mo-

tion in joints. Whether you are healingafter a car accident or are sufferingfrom chronic pain associated with amedical condition, this kind of mas-sage can be extremely beneficial.

One of Karla’s clients from Trinityrecently said, “I have had the pleasureof having Karla as a massage therapistfor the past six years and it has alwaysbeen an enriching and healing experi-ence. She is knowledgeable, profes-sional and a kind-hearted person and Ihave no hesitation in recommendingher service. She has hands of gold!”

Prenatal massages are a fantasticway to pamper the mom-to-be whileeasing some of the side effects of preg-nancy. Karla uses specially designedmassage table pillows that create acomfortable position just for her dur-ing this time, so that pregnant momscan safely enjoy their massage.

Aromatherapy is proven to aid inrelaxation, which is why Barkdoll Mas-sage Therapy offers a variety of essen-tial oils and scents that can be used incollaboration with any other style ofmassage. Most often used with aSwedish massage, aromatherapy oilsare applied by Karla during your mas-sage to enhance the massage experi-ence.

One local couple recently wrote,“We all have very busy schedules and it

saves us time and stress to have Karlacome right to our home. My husbandhas chronic pain and her weekly mas-sages help himtremendously. Whether you just wanta great stress reliever or you have amedical condition I would highly rec-ommend Karla!”

If you are looking for a fantasticway to improve morale at work, howabout offering your employees a cor-porate seated massage? This is a fullyclothed, seated massage that can bedone right at the office. This style ofmassage focuses on the back, neck, shoulders, scalp, arms and hands. Whata great way to let your employeesknow how much you care about them!

My Massage with KarlaI am a huge fan of massages. I go

every chance I get, but to be honest, that isn’t very often. When I’m notbusy with my family or writing for theNeighborhood News, I’m like mostmoms and am usually concerned witheveryone else’s comfort over my own. That’s why I was so excited to be giventhe chance to experience one of Karla’smassages by the staff at NeighborhoodNews. (Thanks Jim!)

Scheduling my massage turnedout to be a breeze because BarkdollMassage Therapy is one of the only

places that offers evening massage ap-pointments. It was all very easy for mesince I wasn’t going to have to worryabout driving anywhere or a babysitterfor the kids! On the evening of mymassage appointment, I simply pickedout a quiet room in the house, sent thekids outside to play with my hubby, and got ready to enjoy my massage.

Karla arrived right on time andbrought everything she needed withher. A true professional, Karla evenwears a clinical massage uniform.Within just a few minutes Karla had setup the massage table and was set upand ready to go. I was really impressedwith how quickly the room I hadpicked had been transformed. Beforewe started she spoke to me about whatkind of massage treatment I wanted, and she asked if I had any injuries thatshe needed to be aware of. We decidedon a combination Swedish and deeptissue massage. She also offered memany different aromatherapy optionsfrom rose oil to eucalyptus. I felt to-tally at ease, and while she stepped outof the room, I comfortably got ontothe massage table and got settled.

When Karla came back in a mo-ment later, she put on what I like tocall “massage music,” and spoke to meabout what she was going to do before

she began. To my surprise, I was evenmore relaxed because I was at home. Ienjoyed the entire hour instead ofwondering how many minutes hadpassed, or wondering about the kids. Ifelt safe, pampered and well cared for.

After my massage, I felt like a soft-ened stick of butter, and I was able tojust put on my slippers instead of myshoes! This was an incredibly cool ex-perience that made me feel more cen-tered, and really changed my outlook.I felt great for days and my entire fam-ily could see what a difference it madefor me both physically and emotionally.

I can see that a massage with Karlawould be a great gift, which is why I’mso happy that she offers gift certificates, but one of the best parts about Bark-doll Massage Therapy is how afford-able it is. I might not have to wait for aspecial occasion because her pricing iscompetitive and affordable enough tofit into anyone’s budget on a regularbasis. From now on, I’m going to takebetter care of myself, and that includeshaving massage treatments from Bark-doll Massage Therapy on a regularbasis. See you in a few weeks Karla!

become. He’s had great days at schoolbecause of the great staff at Brain Bal-ance! We are very excited to see howmuch more he will achieve. His musicteacher said he never raised his hand inclass until today. He asked for thedrum and played and hummed a classi-cal piece of music that the teacher rec-ognized right away! Thanks!”

Off Medication––“He is off all hismeds,” shares parent JC. “He is losingweight and getting better sleep. He hasbeen acting out some still. His primarycare doctor is going to try to find some-thing natural for him. She has also rec-ommended him getting counseling. He is more affectionate. Has a tutorand should be through with 9th gradeby the end of June. He will have theopportunity to opt out for anything hecan test out for.”

Self-Aware and Socializing––DWwrites about the great things that herdaughter is experiencing after attendingBrain Balance. “Here are just a few ofthe wonderful things that Brain Balancehas done for Danielle. Most recentlyDanielle has stopped taking her “brainpill” as she called it. This was medica-tion to help with focus. So far no nega-tive effects noted from not taking it!She is eating better, exercising more, and requires less sleep. Physicallystronger…she recently did a ropes

course, climbed a rock wall and did zipline.

“She is calmer and less impul-sive. This has been noticed by others isgroup settings and social gatherings.(It’s not just MY opinion!) She is con-trolling her voice level better. (Not asloud.) And is SELF regulating her ac-tions more because she now has self-awareness. Conversations now on amore mature and age appropriate level. She is initiating social interaction on amore meaningful level at home, schooland church. She is interacting andbonding with peers and building friend-ships and developing a more appropri-ate sense of humor. She has begunjournaling in the form of art and shortstories or comic strips. She is betterable to grasp intangible concepts suchas religious beliefs. What more couldyou ask for! But I know there is stillmore to come!”

Great Strides Forward––TB of St.Pete writes of her daughter, “We wentsnorkeling off Grand Cayman andCozumel - and she did fantastically! She kept track of all her gear, was ableto navigate the reef with ease, and hadthe time of her life swimming with thedolphins! What a trip!”

Her mother’s letter also noted thatAngela had made the high school bowl-ing team. “She started her average (with-

out bumpers) was around 29. With onlytwo weeks of practice she’s up to a 55 av-erage, and we’re looking to break 100.Her coach is wonderful and her team-mates embrace her and cheer her just asthey do each other. Tears came to myeyes the first time I saw her roll that ballright down the center.

“Her exit testing wasn’t all thatgreat - but then Angela has never beena test taker. She shuts down, and Idon’t know if that will ever change. But I do know that these stories I relateto you, as well as many other “intangi-ble” changes in her life are without adoubt related to her Brain Balancetraining and learning. Anecdotal ornot, this girl has made some greatstrides, and we’re more excited thanever about her moving forward andbeing able to live a fulfilling, happy life.Thank you to your whole [Brain Bal-ance] team - from the moment wewalked in to the suite until we left wefelt positive energy coming toward us.”
