critical scenario: air influx into outer vessel causes pressure increase and quenching of a coil. During a quench, high voltages arise – at increased pressure Therefore all coils are tested under Paschen conditions (between 0.001 and 100 mbar) with 9 kV This has also proven to be a good procedure to verify a good insulation.
