This morning we welcome Rev. Dr. Barry Dawson and Shelly Dawson to our worship. Rev. Dawson, supported by his spouse Shelly, serves as the regional liaison for Southeast Asia. As such, he serves as a facilitator of Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in support for partner programs, relationships and activities and as an implementer of the Presbyterian World Mission strategy. The region covers Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Southeast Asia is incredibly diverse ecologically, culturally, ethnically, linguistically and religiously, yet with surprising similarities and unity. Christianity constitutes a small percentage of the population, except in the Philippines, which is predominately Roman Catholic.  Much of the region’s population is Buddhist, but Indonesia has more Muslims than any other country in the world. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) maintains partnerships with churches in every country in the region. The Dawsons are supported, in part, by WPC. More information is available on the display in the Fellowship Hall.

This Monday will be our last Adult Bible Class until September. Next Monday, May 22nd, the group will be traveling to Philadelphia to witness Alawa Gali taking the oath of citizenship for the United States of America. What a joyful occasion. Everyone at WPC wishes Alawa the very best in this endeavor to become a US citizen.

THE STAFF AT WALLINGFORD PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH WISHES ALL MOTHER’S A VERY HAPPY DAY!

CALL TO CONFESSION Scripture assures us that whoever believes in Christ will not be put to shame. Confident in this promise, let us confess our sin before God and one another.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION Loving God, your Good News offers us freedom from sin, but we confess that we don’t always live the Good News. We don’t forgive our enemies, we sometimes don’t

even forgive our friends and loved ones; we are deceitful in relationships; insincere in commitments; we gossip and share half-truths. We’re a mess.(Silent Confession)

Forgive us, Lord and lead us to your truth.Help us to accept your Word for our lives and to really try to change into the people you want us to be, for the sake of Jesus Christ. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDONFriends, once we were not a people, but now, by grace, we are God’s people. Once we did not know mercy but now, by grace, we have received mercy and forgiveness. In the name of Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God!
