WOMEN STUDENT UNION
The Women Student Union (WSU) is celebrating Women’s History Month through Creating Her Story, which highlights the narratives of women in their personal and collective journeys. Focusing on the multidimensional aspects of women, WSU takes time to appreciate the under-appreciated in everything from science to literature. Join WSU as they dedicate this month to Creating Her Story on the Florida State University campus. There are plenty of ways to get involved with Women's History Month! Visit www.sga.fsu.edu/whm for a list of activities. The Ladies' Legacy Banquet is one of the culminating events of the month, and a time for students, faculty, staff, and alumni to come together. SCHOOL OF ARTS & SCIENCES CLEANUP DAY All are invited to help the School of Arts & Sciences (3208 Thomasville Road) give its campus a needed spring cleaning! It’s been a while…Let’s help get their Dragon campus in top shape for testing, playing and learning! The Campus Clean Up Day 2015 will be held on Sunday, March 29 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, rain or shine. Stay as long as your schedule permits. Please sign up for your preferred task(s) by clicking here. If not, there will be some to share: shovels, rakes, clippers, fire ant/wasp spray, buckets, brooms, paper towels, cleaning rags, cleaning supplies, mops, etc. If working outside, don’t forget to bring bug spray, sunscreen and water!
WALK LIKE MADD AT FSU Join MADD Noles and FSUPD's first 5K in support of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Northwest Florida. This year, thousands of people in over 60 cities around the nation will participate in 5K events to eliminate drunk driving from the roadways. Walk Like MADD is your chance to do something about drunk driving at FSU and in the Tallahassee community. Students are welcome to register as a team or individually at www.walklikemadd.org/event/tallahassee.
PAVE THE WAY FUNDRAISER The Gaines Street Art Alley is being transformed into an attractive outdoor art gallery and a functional pedestrian pathway. The community’s help is needed to complete this project. The supporters of the Alley along with the City of Tallahassee have come up with a plan to improve the Alley. To purchase a brick/paver, make a donation to the project, or sign up to be a volunteer, visit here.
AMAZING WOMEN IN BUSINESS Nominate an Amazing Woman in Business by March 13! Tallahassee Woman Magazine is now accepting nominations through March 16, 2015, for recognition of the most inspiring and influential businesswomen in the community. Categories for awards are: Entrepreneur Award; Service Award; Trailblazer Award; Rock Star Award; Torchbearer Award; and the Legacy Award. Nominate here.
PALMER MUNROE TEEN CENTER: SAY YES TO THE DRESS
Palmer Munroe Teen Center is hosting an event called Say Yes to the Dress. This event will serve Leon PACE Center for Girls and all local female students within the community as they prepare for prom or their school’s end of the year dance. Every girl can receive a free dress. Say Yes to the Dress will be from 9:30am to 2:00pm on March 28. In addition to dress and show donations, they also need the following items for survival kits for each girl: • Bobby pins • Clear nail polish • Mini deodorant • Safety pins • Lip balm • Tissues • Hair ties • Food bar • Mints/gum If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Manuela Queliz at [email protected] at the time you are available. ST. PATRICK’S FESTIVAL The Tallahassee Irish Society presents the annual St. Patrick's Festival with a day for the whole family to enjoy. Following the parade, which ends at Kleman Plaza, there will be a kid’s corner, Irish food, costume contest, live music and dance, vendors, FSU Jugglers, and Southern Shakespeare Actors. NATIONAL COUNCIL ON U.S.-ARAB RELATIONS
The Florida Regional Model Arab League invites you to participate in the 2015 Florida Regional Model Arab League, a debate-based simulation of the League of Arab States. This academic and leadership development experience is open to both high school and university students. The conference will be held in Tampa, FL at the University Area CDC, from March 19 to March 20 and fees are completely waived! Through participation in the Model Arab League program students develop essential skills from leadership and public speaking to critical thinking and writing, all while also gaining practical, immediate knowledge about a critical region – the Middle East and the Arab world. Forming a team for a Model Arab League conference does not have to be difficult! Whether led by a faculty adviser or student leaders, any size group of students may form a team and register online to receive a country assignment. Your team will then research its country's policies on the most important issues facing the Arab world and Middle East today, found in the MAL Agenda. Finally, you will practice the rules of debate found in the MAL Handbook before attending the conference. The National Council's staff stands ready to assist your team at every step. FSU CENTER FOR GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT The FSU Center for Global Engagement (CGE) is looking for a CGE Immigration Front Desk Intern for summer or fall 2015. CGE offers programs and services to facilitate international diversity. This position is located on FSU’s campus in Tallahassee, FL. This position offers an opportunity to learn about immigration rules and regulations as they pertain to F-1 and J-1 international students and scholars as well as H-1B international employees. Students are able to gain exposure and insight into the multitude of programs and activities sponsored by the Center for Global Engagement, gain experience working with people from other cultures, and learn about immigration or cultural adjustment services.

CAMP CODY
Camp Cody is a traditional summer camp for girls and body, ranging in age from 7 years to 15 years old. Camp Cody is looking for a Summer Activities Counselor. This camp is located in Freedom, New Hampshire and pays $250 to $350 per week. A Summer Activities Counselor is expected to plan, direct, and implement activities in his or her area of expertise and coordinate the activities into the entire camp program.
