One of the most important aspects of your honeymoon that is, unfortunately, beyond our control is the weather. Luckily, Mauritius is a year round holiday destination and, by staying on the holiday friendly west coast, you will maximise your chances of the best weather on the island. Mauritius sits just above the tropic of Capricorn, which means it does not suffer from extreme temperatures.

The hotter months are between November to March while the warm mild months are April to September. The east coast and south-east coast tend to suffer most from the annual south-east trade winds, especially from April to October.

With the central plateau and mountain ranges offering protection from the winds, the north and west coasts tend to provide more year round holiday friendly weather, calmer, warmer lagoons and spectacular sunsets. .

requiremeNts & proceduresTo celebrate a wedding in Mauritius, the following documents are required by the Civil Status Office:

• 3 copies of the first three pages of the passports

• 3 copies of the birth certificates

• 3 copies of the divorce certificate or certificate of

death of spouse when applicable

• An application form completed and signed by the

future groom and bride

• All wedding documents must be translated

in english or french, all translations must be

certified by the authorized translator

• A divorced bride-to-be, getting married within

10 months of the divorce must take a pregnancy

test (at her own expense). should the test be

positive, the civil marriage cannot be celebrated

in Mauritius

• All documents should be sent to the hotel at least

one month prior to wedding date

• At latest three days before the wedding, clients

have to go to the registrar General Civil status

Office in Port-Louis.

• All original documents and affidavits must be

taken to Mauritius and will be checked by an

attorney at law

• Clients then proceed to the Supreme Court to

swear their affidavit

• Supreme Court and Civil Status do not operate

on week-ends and public holidays
