May supervise Research Assistants and technical staff for particular aspects of specified project
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES <DELETE BELOW AS REQUIRED>
Conduct laboratory/field work/research (delete as required) in the area of <specific area of research>.
Assist with the design of data collection, scientific tests or interview regime. Be responsible for data collection, storage and preliminary analysis of data collected in
accordance with the research protocols as stipulated. Management and drafting of reports and scholarly articles. Manage the coordination of meetings between researchers and participating external
administrators as required. Supervise Research Assistants Grade 1 and technical staff (Grade 1) or Supervise Research
Assistants and technical staff for particular parts of the project (Grade 2). (Lead and promote) compliance with relevant legislation and University policies and
procedures, including research ethics, equity and health & safety, laboratory standards and exhibit good practice in relation to same. (non-supervisory roles would use words such as support, ensure, maintain...)

SELECTION CRITERIA <DELETE BELOW AS REQUIRED>
Essential
Masters Degree or equivalent qualifications/work experience in a relevant field. Previous research experience in the area of <area of research> (Grade 1) or Significant
research experience in the area of <area of research> (Grade 2). Demonstrated ability to undertake research and project management work under broad
direction only, exercise initiative in undertaking responsibilities and work effectively with Chief Investigators.
Demonstrated high level organisation, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills. Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to maintain
accurate records and the preparation of research reports and publications. Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to work both collaboratively in a team
and autonomously when required
Desirable
Experience in a work environment with stringent Quality Assurance & Quality Control requirements.
