P6 have welcomed their new teacher this term, Miss Nimmo! Miss Nimmo will be working with P6 on Monday to Wednesday, and Miss Todd will teach them on Thursdays and Fridays. Miss Nimmo and Miss Todd are both so excited to be working with such a hardworking and enthusiastic class!

Whilst P.E. lessons have to take place outside, the P6 P.E. day is a Tuesday. On this day, the pupils can come to school wearing appropriate clothing for taking part in physical activity outside. For many of the pupils, their normal school uniform is fine for this. However, joggers/leggings, T-shirts/hoodies and trainers can also be worn. For the rest of the term, P6 will continue to focus on Invasion Games!

Children at Sighthill will also be taking part in Outdoor Learning on a daily basis, so try to remember to wear your warmest outerwear, especially in this colder term!

During the first few weeks of term, the P6 pupils created a Class Charter. The pupils

discussed the importance of children having rights and responsibilities, and

then thought about how they link with the school values. P6 then worked together to create rules and expectations which we

think are important for a happy and productive classroom. Here they are!

We will make sure that we use positive language and make positive choices when we feel angry or upset. We will

think about our resilience strategies to help us!

We need to use our growth mindset strategies to help us to challenge

ourselves and to try the best we can. We should inspire our peers to do the

same!

We want to be kind and helpful to those around us by encouraging them and building them up using our words.

We want everyone to feel welcome in our class by making sure we are kind

and treat others fairly, without judging them.

We should listen to others when they are talking and show respect for them,

their opinions and their ideas. We

about kindness and how we can be “Bucket-Fillers” to develop our empathy for and communication skills with

others. We are currently creating a class display for this with our art specialist, Mr. Pearce.
